Much of counterterrorism is really security theater. TSA searches that have yet to stop a terrorist. Bombing raids that don't drop bombs. Soldiers standing with rifles that have no bullets in them. It looks impressive. But there's no substance behind it.

Of course it's just for show. Anything else would be too much. Western governments don't want to actually stop Islamic terrorism. They want to look like they're trying.
It's not just Obama. It's the whole system.
After every terror attack, there's security theater. Empty reassurances that the guys running everything are really taking it seriously. But there's no there, there. Instead they'll keep on bringing huge numbers of Muslims, creating the next wave of terror, even while they put on a show of being serious about the latest attack.
Being serious about Islamic terrorism means ending Muslim migration. Any government that doesn't want to do that is also not going to do much to fight Islamic terrorism except go through the motions.

Yes, the Belgians held the Germans off longer than expected in WWI. In WWII they did just like everyone else. The Germans did perform a brilliant raid and capture of Fort Eban Emael which really demoralized the Belgians.
But the guns sent to narco terrorists via “Fast and Furious” were fully operative. Didn’t they find one of them inside the hideout of that drug Kingpin who put out a contract on Trump? /triple facepalm>

Bullets won’t do them much good without brass, powder and primers.
At the end of WW2 my dad was living in occupied Germany.
He looking into a job guarding a US army wherehouse at night.
They offered to give him a rifle, but no bullets.
His response “ I can’t think of anything dumber . No thanks I’d rather not have a rifle then one that’s likely to only get ME shot”.

NG was all over airports after 911. The ones I saw in Houston did NOT have clips in their rifles.
My brother was an AP in the Air Force from ‘64 to ‘68. He carried live rounds while guarding nuclear armed B52s. I wonder if that’s still the case.

The way I look at things recently, the US isn’t too far behind France in the surrender stakes these days.
I’m reminded of the movie SOUTHERN COMFORT (1981) in which National Guardsmen have blanks but no bullets, but one does slip in a box of live ammo.
Now where would Belgians stash a box of live ammo?
