When FR started allowing Twitter feeds as source for articles it jumped the shark. It’s a gossip site now.
Amen, some of these posters make the DU look like a place for reasoned discussion.
However, I do suspect that many of these people are "trolls" that are posting over the top comments, just to cause dissent. A classic sabotage technique by spreading gossip, innuendo and engaging in personal attacks.
They don't care/believe what they post, their primary goal is to get a flame war going.
Because of this crap, I don't post much anymore, I really wish people on both sides would be more reasonable.
“When FR started allowing Twitter feeds as source for articles it jumped the shark. Its a gossip site now.”
And I thought I was the only one that noticed this.
Yup... I long for the days when I first signed up in 1998 where the discourse was polite, though sometimes heated, reasonable, fact based and had well thought out posts and commentary...
This place has become a three ring circus where the animals and clowns have free reign...
I wish Jim would put his foot down a bit more firmly...
Clean up some of the trolls...
Would you rather not know that a conservative, Atlantic-city radio host is reporting on the Cruz-affairs? The current debate right now is: Is it just a fringe story from the National Enquirer or is this something that serious people are really discussing? The answer is: it is a serious story and is apparently bubbling up.
You’re wrong. When the Cruz affair first broke, JimRob was pulling the threads. All the Twitter-linked articles were pulled.
What happened next is the Rafael supporters then began posting Twitter-linked articles that Trump was involved, that the NE was in the tank for him, when it was clear that Cruz’s story has been out for weeks and was shopped around by Rubio’s people.
So Jim and the Mods said F it, Cruz dug his grave and he can lie in it....
So that’s why Tweets are posted here.
Agreed. I have been contemplating contacting Mr. Robinson to make a case for the same. Political posts are more like DU lately.
Would you prefer Fox, CNN, or Univison? I am not sure those could be considered credible sources. By the way, the Internet sites such as Twitter, Facebook and even sites such as this one right here have been known to break with national stories or newsworthy stories on a national scale. Do not underestimate the Internet as an incredible amount of valuable information has been gleaned from Internet sites. It's the information super highway after all.
Don’t like it around here? You know where the door is.
Yep, the backyard fence at lightspeed. I remember when we wouldn’t hasten to attack a conservative over twitter feeds and National Enquirer articles.
