The National Enquirer published a story this week accusing Texas Senator Ted Cruz of multiple extramarital affairs.

It was discovered that weeks ago a large number of Marco Rubio operatives and supporters were trying to bring the sex scandal story to the MSM attention.
Under the open guise of #TheThing they were communicating via various twitter feeds and following along to see if the story had been picked up. Most of the activity was centered around March 10th – March 15th.
Yesterday the hashtag CruzSexScandal went viral. Today, many of those DC operatives, participants, supporters, consultants, Super-PAC’s and campaign advisors have spent a great deal of time deleting their (The Thing) participation. The peak of their scrubbing coincided with Senator Ted Cruz accusing Donald Trump of planting the story.

Virtually everyone in the blog-o-sphere who supported Marco Rubio was active, tweeting, re-tweeting, or following the events related to #TheThing. Now they’re running for cover and trying to hide their fingerprints.
Anti-Trump Republican operative Rick Wilson tweeted this out weeks ago. (He has since deleted it.)

The reason Cruz blamed Trump was that it was the only way to, temporarily, deflect the story. It was his only out. It is telling that he didn’t go after the source but diverted to Trump. It will only gain him for a very short period (maybe enough time to engage some intensive polling...to tell him if there is any way to position this for the longer term). The drip, drip though is about to destroy him. He is trying to buy time by bringing Trump in. Even a politician isn’t that bull-headed though, he has to know this wound, by his own hand, is mortal.
Me too. I’ve tried to abstain from too many comments today while lurking and reading the incoming feeds.
None of this was new “news”, as it had been out there a long time. I remember Rubio hinting at it, and that video from Anonymous was a clear warning this was in the pipeline.
If it were totall bull$hit, Cruz would be threatening lawsuits, and vehemently denying that any of these liaisons took place. He did not. Instead, he blamed Trump, while calling it all garbage. That fits his pattern, IMO, except this time there was no plausible deniability.
This just started. And as Anonymous said, it will go viral on social media. It would not be such a big deal if Cruz had not portrayed himself as a pure Christian. But then again, there are two types of believers: those who believe, and those who try to convince others that they believe. If you have to convince me you are a Christian, your actions always tell another story.
Well, if there’s one thing known to be associated with Canada, it’s beaver.
The Enquirer story sounds like something Hillary or Romney would do. It is more their style.
Time for Cruz to withdraw for the good of the Party.
