A pair of new polls are showing good news for presidential hopeful Ted Cruz.
In a new Fox News poll of 388 likely GOP primary voters, frontrunner Donald Trump and Texas Senator Ted Cruz are now in a statistical dead heat nationally. The poll shows Trump and Cruz polling at 41%-38% respectively, a slight edge for the real estate mogul, but within the poll's +/- 5 point margin of error. Governor John Kasich is running in third place with 17%.
A second poll, this one from Emerson College, is spelling good news for Ted Cruz in the April 5th, winner-take-all Wisconsin primary and in a hypothetical match-up against Hillary Clinton in the general election. Emerson College reports:
Ted Cruz is not only leading Trump 36% to 35% in the upcoming primary, but Cruz is only trailing Hillary Clinton by one point in a hypothetical general election matchup, 46% to 45%. In contrast, Trump is trailing both Clinton and her Democratic rival, Bernie Sanders, by the same 9-point margin of 47% to 38% in a potential general election match-up.
The Emerson College poll also shows Ohio Governor John Kasich rounds out the GOP field with 19% of the vote.
The news could be an indication that anti-Trump Republicans are beginning to consolidate around the Texas Senator.
Ted SAID he had nothing to do with it. SO you are going to say he’s lying ?? On what grounds?
Trump says he’ll build a wall.. on what grounds are you basing that? Fact?....
It all boils down to who do you trust to keep his word
I trust TED...
Trying to teardown the frontrunner does not elevate Cruz.
Ted Cruz getting ready to stick a dagger in the back of his "good friend".
I know that you like to pretend that candidates have no control over their PACs. That is nonsense. They can refuse PACs in their name or strongly rebuke PACs that don’t represent their values or positions. The Melania ad is a perfect example of why PACs are bad and how they control candidates. The problem is that Ted Cruz is not a leader in this regard.
LOL...the same Sasse who had a humiliating - and bullying - public meltdown, on his personal Twitter, a few weeks ago?
No thanks.
Stoopis SOB has no way to win fairly.
FauxNews poll was already proven faux....it’s conducted by a Bushbot and skewed.
No thanks.
No, we still have no idea what ted and heidi are hiding. LOL
That is not true.
Collateral damage!...sorry Ted. Donald’s a street-fighter, the only one who can take it to Shillary...I see another schlonging in her future.
GO TRUMP!
I’ve been a FReeper since 2005.
This is a temporary handle, while I am overseas.
Regular handle, is Cringing Negativism Network.
Go Trump. :D
“Ted SAID he had nothing to do with it. SO you are going to say hes lying ?? On what grounds?”
Oh I don’t know, maybe because he is a congenital LIAR.
Also, the photo had been circulating in Utah for days, and Lying Teddy was Mute.
That's a 10-point swing.
I don't attach a great deal of credence to this poll.
Plus, Cruz' side attacked first.
Ted hasn’t moved ahead of Trump you fool. Winning a fraud caucus in Utah is not moving ahead.
Gawd, you are a joke.
Old polls. Have you seen the new ones? Care to know what they say? (Hint: They ain’t good for St. Ted from Calgary.)
“It wasnt a Teddy Cruz pac but it was one that supports Teddy.
That is not true”.
I guess it was just a big coinkadink it was captioned, ‘Vote Ted’.
By their behavior, they sure must be hiding something. Big time upset by everyone over Trump’s tweet to “spill the beans”. Beats me how that is an attack. ;)
A candidate needs 1,237 delegates to win on the first ballot.
Cruz currently has 465, so he needs another 772 delegates to win on the first ballot. Trump currently has 739, Kasich has 143, Rubio has 166, and other candidates have a total of 15. So there are 1063 delegates committed to other candidates, and 1528 delegates already committed to all candidates (including Cruz.)
Subtracting 1528 (the total number of delegates not available) from 2472 (the total number of delegates) leaves 944 delegates available, which is 172 greater than 772 (the number Cruz would need to win on the first ballot.)
There simply is no way that Cruz can win 772 of the 944 delegates who are still up for grabs.
Period.
Okay.... So the pac doesn’t support Cruz? Is that what you are saying? Then he should
condemn it very loudly at each opportunity.
