Europe's Underbelly: Brussels Is the Ultimate Soft Target
Der Spiegel ^ | March 23, 2016 | Peter Müller

They were so proud last Friday when police managed to apprehend Salah Abdeslam. Finally, Europe's most-wanted terrorist was locked away. The Belgian government was so relieved that they immediately released a photo to the world showing Prime Minister Charles Michel, with French President François Hollande seated next to him, speaking on the phone with US President Barack Obama. Both congratulated the Belgian leader on the investigation's success.

And now this.

Not four days later, all that remains of that feeling of triumph is a bitter aftertaste. At least 31 people were killed and 230 injured in attacks on the airport and on a subway station in the heart of the European quarter on Tuesday. Belgium simply can't seem to get a grip on its terror problem. At least when it comes to the Belgian security apparatus, the small country in the center of Europe is essentially a failed state.

The same thing could be said for most of Europe.

And the same thing can be said of the Obama administration.

Unfortunately, the brave Belgians don't have the government they deserve.

I'll hold comment until the bodies are buried, but I have to wonder.

Belgium simply can’t seem to get a grip on its terror problem.
No one has. Not a single country on the planet has.
It used to be Hamas, then Al-Queda, and a half dozen others then ISIL and next year something else.
As long as our spineless Presidents and Prime Ministers belittle the problem by claiming the problem is a “few radicalized terrorist” (they can’t even say the name muslim or Islam in this manner) we will continue to lose this war.The problem is Islam and its design to destroy western civilization and bring about a total muslim world.

This photo is typical of what's wrong with Western Europe and some parts of the U.S.

All they will do is light candles, display sympathetic banners and wring their hands in helpless dismay.

I made the mistake of attending a 9-11 ceremony in a small town near me, expecting some fire-and-brimstone "stamping out the vintage" oratory and instead found a bunch of people holding candles and wallowing in sorrow for the U.S. It was the most goddam maudlin ceremony I have ever attended.

While I don't agree with Cruz's neighborhood patrols, I do go along with stopping the Islamic infiltration, telling CAIR to stick it and come down HARD on those Muslims who try to kill people or even just push their agenda.

For the most part, we still get nothing candle-holding ceremonies.
