Newt Gingrich Is Bullish on Donald Trump
Slate ^ | 3/23/16 | Isaac Chotiner

Posted on 03/23/2016 8:46:37 PM PDT by tatown

So why are Trump’s negatives so high, if he is giving a voice to the masses?

Look, Trump has been campaigning in a Republican primary with harsh language and has been routinely attacked by the elite media as much as they can. Reagan went through the same cycle. Do you know how many points Reagan was behind Carter in March?

It was double digits, right?

Twenty-five. Not just double digits. Twenty-five points. So if you had talked to me in March of 1980, you would have said, “How can I support this crazy right-winger who makes movies with chimpanzees and is 25 points behind Carter?” And I would have said, “Because I think he can win.” Which, by the way, he did.

Is there really nothing that worries you about this guy? The way he deals with reporters, his campaign manager, etc.? You are not at all worried he has authoritarian tendencies?

No. No. [Laughs.] Which part of that is supposed to bother me?

That his campaign manager may have assaulted a reporter?

Oh c’mon. Did you ever look at it?

I have looked at it, many times.

That’s an assault?

He grabbed her arm very hard.

Exactly, I view Gingrich backing Trump as one weather vane supporting another weather vane.

Ha ha ha.

I could see Newt serving as Trump’s chief of staff.

There was a time then Mr. Newt was vilified on this site as a traitor to conservatism and the country. My how times have changed.

Really? When was that? Because the frontpage of FR still has a Newt.org link in the sidebar.

Maybe it’s you that has changed?

I think Newt would be good for advising in some roles. Trump/Newt would be good for me as a ticket, but ideally, I’d like him for chief of staff or some other role, because the libs would just drag out all the same-old-same-old.

I hope Trump picks a black person, to be honest. A black, lesbian woman. To shut up all the cucks once and for all.

Trump/Rice 2016

And screw all of the Newt haters. He’s a great American, warts and all.

Cruz just realized that if he loses, there goes Heidi's $500,000 / year job...

And she doesn't look like the kind of woman who would be very *happy* about that.

(Hint: when you think "alpha male" Cruz is NOT the first name that comes to mind.)

Excerpted:

The last US presidential election was won on a margin of just 4% (51% to 47%) on a turnout of 55% and as Robert Epstein wrote in Politico last August,

“Google has the ability to drive millions of votes to a candidate with no one the wiser.”

Epstein asserts his research findings that confirms

“Google’s search algorithm can easily shift the voting preferences of undecided voters by 20 percent or more—up to 80 percent in some demographic groups — with virtually no one knowing they are being manipulated.”

As Epstein points out, with electoral margins usually quite thin, Google has the ability to change to outcome of elections in one quarter of elections worldwide.

And then you wonder why governments the world over are so keen to give organisations such as Google such huge tax breaks and legislative business advantages. If they don’t, it’s regime change time for them.

“I looked at that video over and over again and saw nothing. I don’t get that assault charge.”

The proper reply:

Hillary’s husband forcibly raped up to 13 women which she has helped cover up and you’re concerned about this?

Newt would be perfect for Chief of Staff in a Trump White House His knowedge of what make the government work, who’s who, who’s done what, where the bodies are buried, etc. exceeds any other mortal. The position is far more engaged than VP. And Newt is just slightly less unpopular in a lot of circles than is Trump. I think he’s fabulous, but not a big help on the electoral trail.

When was what? The link I mentioned?

It’s still over there on the frontpage of the site.

Sorry, I’m low info. I didn’t mean to not write a few paragraphs about how Newt is not the worst enemy of FR.

I get as upset with Newt as the next guy, but some of you are too tough on him. In my opinion, after Reagan of course, there is not another conservative (yes, he was) who did as much as Newt did. Actual accomplishments. Sure, it was not all pretty and he helped to bring himself down, but as we look back on his political life we would be lucky to find a speaker half as good as him (back in his prime) in our lifetime. For a few short years the guy was an absolute wizard on the hill.

With that said, I am still disappointed in him, but I will never hate the guy. I wish we had many more of him in congress. Go figure.
