The horror in Brussels is a rebuke to Trump’s foreign policy
Washington Compost ^ | March 22, 2016 | Editorial Board

THE TERRORIST assault on Brussels Tuesday, just four days after the arrest of an architect of last year’s attacks in Paris, underlined the resilience and continued menace of the Islamic State — to Europe, to the United States and to vital Western interests. It also revealed a crucial divide among U.S. presidential candidates about what this country must do to protect itself.

One one side are those who support the internationalist response of President Obama, who said the United States “will do whatever is necessary to support our friend and ally Belgium,” and who asserted that “we must be together, regardless of nationality or race or faith, in fighting against the scourge of terrorism.” That view was broadly shared by Democrats Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders and Republican John Kasich.

Against them is the radical isolationism of Donald Trump, from whom the Brussels bloodshed prompted another call to “close up our borders,” and who on Monday questioned the value of U.S. support for NATO allies such as Belgium. Though GOP rival Ted Cruz rejected Mr. Trump’s position on NATO, his answer to Brussels was similar: He, too, stressed “secur[ing] the southern border” and curtailing refugee flows, along with patrols of “Muslim neighborhoods.”

“Terror in Brussels is the VALIDATION of Trump’s foreign Policy.

FIXED”

Exactly! Terrorists and all our enemies hate Trump. That should tell us something...

The wapo is wrong. Trump’s position that Natori should be providing more troops and more money and more interest in their own security is right on the money.
I’m betting there’s an old editorial floating around in their files that says exactly the same thing. I’m betting there’s a very long list of politicians from both parties saying the same thing.

I'd call it unbelievable, but frankly it isn't even surprising. What we have had is eight years of 0bama's foreign policy and the streets of Paris and Brussels littered with corpses. What we have not had is the sort of foreign policy Trump, et al, recommend. So tell me again how is the untried latter "rebuked" by the failed former? How does that work, exactly?

The Washington Post knew this would help Trump so this is them trying to blunt minds changing in favor of Trump.

Terror in Brussels is INDEED the VALIDATION of Trump’s foreign Policy.

The problem is not that liberals will not “learn.”

They aren’t “stupid,” “naive,” or “incompetent.”

They want the United States to END. They want Christianity to disappear. They want the Muslims to destroy the West.

I wish I could express in words how much I hate the Left.

Bush receives a daily briefing that says: "OBL determined to strike in the US"

The Left goes nuts.

Wailing, gnashing of teeth, years of hand wringing.

WHY oh why didn't Bush STOP the 9/11 attacks?

He had AMPLE warning and all.

OK, we'll see if the Left is as good as their word.

Obama daily briefing: "Islamists continue to blow people up, and show no signs of stopping"

Obama does NOTHING to address the real problem.

Wringing of hands.

"Why did POTUS candidate Trump start TALKING about there being a problem?"

See, Trump's fault.

(Wringing of hands and severe criticism of TRUMP, not the f$%#ing guy who should have been doing something)

Maybe they should wait until he’s in the White House before forming an opinion.

In the interim, it’s obama’s foreign policy that stands rebuked.
