If Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz's dig at arch-nemesis Donald Trump sounded good, that's because it was cribbed from an Oscar-winning screenwriter.
The Texas Senator used a line from the 1995 movie "The American President" to warn Trump to stop threatening his wife only Cruz neglected to attribute the source.
"If Donald wants to get into a character fight, he's better off sticking with me, because Heidi is way out of his league," Cruz told CNN Wednesday morning.
That's nearly verbatim from the Aaron Sorkin-penned scene in which Michael Douglas' Commander in Chief slams a rival by saying, "If you want a character debate Bob, you better stick with me because Sydney Ellen Waid is way out of your league."

All Cruz has to do is condemn or denounce the ad.
It's that simple.
He doesn't have to apologize, since his campaign didn't put out the ad.
As it stands now, though - Cruz APPROVES the message, because he won't condemn it.
Lol..okay you play that game.

Name a Trump PAC?
This Cruz Pac debacle tells me that Cruz has been swallowed up by The Establishment and the Bush Machine. If Cruz can't handle PACs, how will Cruz with stand The Establishment, his donors (the Donor Class/K Street) and MSM Establishment?
What a dweeb.
It’s a Trump thing. Embellish every statement with the biggest most over-descriptive adjective/adverb to try to belittle your opponent.
That is a Cruz Pac and he knows it.
It’s from Red State and named “Make America Awesome”
It ain’t the police report. It’s who she was having an affair with I’m betting. That or teddy bear having a little fun. They are a weird couple.

LOL...you think the truth is a game? I can only feel sorry for you in the thinking (or lack of).
He said he had nothing to do with it. Just like Trump said he had nothing to do with David Duke’s endorsement. Good enough for you?
Cruz “knew” about this to the exact same degree Trump “knew” about David Duke’s endorsement of him.
But then he believes the violent moveon.org and BLM are just reacting to Trump's speech. Guess the riots in Ferguson and Baltimore just their reaction to what Trump would later say.
Apparently your guy Cruz does Twitter.
>>Asked whether he would repudiate the endorsement [of David Duke], Trump said Sure, I would if that would make you feel better.
It would make me feel better if Cruz would repudiate the ad.
Wouldn't it make you feel better, 5thGenTexan?
A reflection of objective reality.
Accirdingly, by his own words, he considers his wife, or at least her stripping for the camera, as (quote end quote) "low level."
A real man, ( who doesn't eat quiche) would have said rather , " Hid made my wife with a beautiful body. She is phenomenol and have you have a problem with that, Ted, come see me."
Cruz is already afraid. lol. Cruz started it by putting out the nude pic of Trumps wife in one of his PACs. What a coward Cruz is.
I was hoping for a Trump/Cruz ticket but damn, Cruz keeps getting smaller and smaller.
All Cruz has to do to stop the dance is say "It was a bad ad, and I condemn it."
But Cruz's weakness is lawyerspeak. Trump has got his number.
Of which I do not approve.
