Super Tuesday: What's going on in Missouri?
CNN ^ | 3/16/2016 | Jennifer Agiesta

Posted on 03/16/2016 5:27:35 AM PDT by 20yearsofinternet

With vote counting in Missouri completed for Tuesday night, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump lead their respective party primaries there by less than half a percentage point. Since the margin of victory in each case is less than 1 percentage point, CNN will not project a winner in either contest.

Stephanie Fleming, a spokeswoman for the Missouri secretary of state's office, told CNN that 100% of precincts have reported, but some absentee and provisional ballots remain uncounted. These ballots will be counted in the coming days. Overseas absentee ballots will be accepted until Friday at noon. The secretary of state's office could not say how many uncounted ballots remain.

*snip*

As of now, CNN has allocated the following delegates in Missouri:

Republicans:

Trump: 20

Cruz: 5

Unallocated pending further results: 27

Kasich and Rubio are not expected to win any delegates in Missouri.

At this point with it being as close as it is, calling the race one way or another would be premature.

If I were a betting man, I would say that Trump is likely to eek out a win there. We shall see.

I already called the state for Trump last night.

The networks are hiding behind the excuse the outstanding ballots might change the outcome.

It won’t happen.

Assuming there’s no math error somewhere, Trump wins the state and picks up the 12 statewide delegates.

CD 2, CD 4 and CD 5 are left for the remaining 15 aun pportioned delegates.

Right now Trump leads CD 2 by my math.
CD 5 goes to Cruz according to the SOS numbers.

CD 4 will be close. Cruz leads, but where the SOS didn’t get the data yet, favors Trump. Trump ekes by.

I would put Missouri in the Trump camp at 42-10.

The main issue is that the SOS hasn’t apportioned votes for some counties where there are multiple Congressional Districts. The vote is counted.

all I know is how with a straight face can ksick say he has a chance and will win.

at this point I am so pissed at the gope that I wish Trump/Cruz could have another NYC meeting and together agree Cruz to drop and join Trump as a Trump/Cruz ticket before the Convention and wipe ksick and the gope out

I am sure the phone calls are out today. Cruz is no dummy and knows his path to the nomination is almost a statistical improbability. Cruz has maybe a handful of states he can realistically win, even in a two way race(Yes Levin even in a two way race it's lights out). Utah, Wyoming, South Dakota, basically any state where you have cattle and telephone polls and not many people. Not enough delegates there. Trump should sweep the NE and get Arizona and Ca., plus the pacific NW. Trump will hit the 1237. Cruz\Trump ticket scares the living sh*t out of the Dems, Trumps populist appeal and Cruz bringing the more conservative Republican voters in. That looks like a 44 state blowout to me.

I would say Trump\Cruz ticket is a 50/50 right now.

I do believe that Trump won, but it’s close. THe closest one thus far.

Trump has over half the delegates needed to win the nomination right now, with a little less than half the delegates already committed. If the trajectory remains the same, Trump will win enough delegates to secure the nomination before the convention begins.

Trump needs to make sure he gets MUCH MORE than enough delegates to secure the nomination, to guard against any last-minute Establishment tricks.

They may be all crooks, but Aikin lost the Senate race he could have won by his stupid comments and refusal to drop out of the race. McCaskill was so sure he would do this that she actually ran ads for him in the Republican primary.

With Rubio out, it makes things more likely for Trump to get more than enough delegates to avoid a contested convention.

We should not underestimate the resolve of the party elites to knock out Trump. They know it’s over for them, but like a cornered dog, they will not go quietly.

I live in Northeast Missouri. Rural area. My local polling place ran out of ballots 3 times and by the time i got there at 5, they were making photocopies of the ballots, and were having to count them by hand.

I think for MO the delegates are apportioned by district wins. So even if Cruz had gotten the most votes Trump won everywhere but one district or two districts so he would get the most delegates regardless.
