Can you say, "Not representative" ?
Bush 41 was not conservative: he even raised taxes in the aftermath of Reagan; he was a "new world order" dick.
Dole was a dealmaker and it was his turn.
Bush 43 tried to nominate Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court; Alito was an accident, more or less. He never fought back against the press; and he gave us Obama by doing so.
McCain, the sacrificial lamb to Obama, said on the campaign trail about Obama that "you have nothing to fear from this man." FAIL!
Romney was not a conservative.
Why the sudden pearl-clutching about a "non-conservative" when the man spoken of is kicking MSM and Dem ass up one side and down the other? And drawing crowds like nobody in the GOP has for a long, long time?
I don’t know who Wallace is, embarrassingly enough. Born in ‘68, but still should know.
do you think social media and the internet would make that more difficult to do? the convention shenanigans?
A whole new set of challenges for both sides. One using their devices to expose the rigging, the other trying to shut down the devices.
I was born earlier than you and saw the 1968 events as a child.
Older adults did not like the protestors at all and there was backlash in the fall election.
I can’t believe these candidates all rushed to blame Trump instead of the protestors. Nobody blamed the Democrats for what the protestors did to them, but the Lefties were upset with them for a bit.
Most people in 1968 perceived the Democrats as too soft on the racial riots and caving into the rioters. That hurt them in the fall big time. People either went to Wallace or Nixon.
Wow. Nixon won by less than 1 percent!!
frigging 3rs partiers even back then.
I Did Not know Nixon was president for so many years.
So Kennedy was elected in ‘60, NOT 64!!! Johnson ran and won in 64. Then Nixon was president for six years.
you mean they kicked him out after six years on what today would be looked at as far less serious an offense?
wow.
and Wallace almost ruined it.
Thanks for the history lesson. And getting me to look those other things up :)
I would disagree a bit with that. The protestors (The Chicago Seven) knew exactly what they were doing. They calculated exactly the response they got and hoped for it.
The leaders like all followers of Karl Marx saw a ‘revolution’ but the masses following them weren’t as militant.
The excrement bags and F-bombs aimed at the police and National Guard did get a response, indeed they did.
Who are you?
Why are you posting to me?
i’m reporting you to Jim, the FBI, the CIA, the EPA, BLM, La Raza, the IRS, the NSA, HHS, The Log Cabin Republicans, MADD..
anyone feel free to add to the list :)
Do you even read the context of a post before responding?
The poster to whom I was responding said trump was the majority of voters.
This is false. No candidate had pulled a majority. wyoming is mentioned bc it was the outlier on this statement.
WRONG. I’m starting getting used to the thought DT may THEN go Independent and ALL “We the People,” the sleeping Giant, will follow him amass and even MORE people, and pull out a victory fair and square anyway. DT is not a man liking to lose like GOP’s establishment will be then !!!
You just have to remember what Cochran did down south last time when he was stealing it!!!
Any further questions ???
The CONSTITUTION clearly forbid me from that !!!
GOOD to know that you belongs to the good old same old establishment taking our country further down the gutter,
“CONGRATULATION”
Because after watching conservatives for decades decry how the moderates kept denying a conservative the shot, now that we have a chance to actually pick a conservative, too many “conservatives” have actually chosen to back a guy that would almost fit into the democratic party, and who has a long history of backing democrats and democratic party positions.
Up to and including DURING this campaign.
If the argument is that conservatives are going to stick it to the establishment by picking a guy that is more liberal than anybody they have foisted on us in the last 4 elections, that seems a rather bizarre argument.
McCain is more conservative than Trump. Probably less of a corporaratist than Trump.
Of course, not if you believe that Trump will lift a finger to deport 12 million illegals, before he (as he PROMISED) lets them all back into the country.
If you actually believe anything that Trump says, then you are about 75% correct about what he has currently promised.
He says he wants to build a border fence, but has also promised not to spend any of our money to do it, which means it will never get built.
Since 40% of our problem is people who come in legally, and then don’t leave, building a fence wouldn’t fix the border situation.
He said he’d deport all the illegals, but then let them all back in. He supports the H1B visa program, and will likely expand it.
Trump cares about liberty? He wants to take away first amendment rights to criticize him. He wants corporate liberty, not individual liberty.
But really, it’s not useful talking about what Trump promises today, because he really can’t be trusted. He’s about the only candidate we can pick that actually makes Hillary look honest.
