The North Korean regime lost contact with one of its submarines earlier this week, three U.S. officials familiar with the latest information told CNN.

U.S. spy satellites, aircraft and ships have been secretly watching for days as the North Korean navy searched for the missing sub.

The U.S. is unsure if the missing vessel is adrift under the sea or whether it has sunk, the officials said, but believes it suffered some type of failure during an exercise.

It could have hit a mine.

North or South mine too.

But the “hidden asset” tracking it would have heard the explosion - we would not have questions in public. But! If it hit the bottom, just busted a pipe?

It isn’t missing. It will pop up on the opposite side of the planet and Dear Leader will claim he piloted it through the center of the earth.

Wood and cardboard don’t last very long in salt water.

I'd just closed my Netflix account when I read this. Fortunately, I still have some paid time on Amazon Prime, and so I'm watching it this evening.

"They forgot to close the hatch?"

I'll bet it was an oxygen circulation problem ...

They bought a sub-standard screen door.

Partway through now. The engineering that went into this was brilliant.

I remember seeing the Glomar Explorer often when it was anchored with the Mothball Fleet in Suisun Bay. I wish I'd seen this back then when I could have taken a lot of pictures of it.

If I ever get back into miniatures as a hobby, I'm doing this vessel in 1/350th.
