Trump Triumphs At GOP Debate. Rivals And Moderators Can't Lay A Glove On Front-Runner
foxnews.com ^ | March 11 | Julie Roginsky

It only benefitted the front-runner.

Senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz and Governor John Kasich did their best to underscore their policy acumen and to highlight Donald Trump’s lack of substance.

It backfired.

Neither his opponents on stage nor the debate moderators laid a glove on Trump. When Trump repeatedly called Putin a “strong leader” without refusing to place a value judgment on his leadership, neither moderator Jake Tapper nor his opponents on stage pressed him. When Tapper asked Trump about his violence-inciting rhetoric at rallies, none of Trump’s opponents called him out for refusing to disavow it.

There is no bigger indicator that Trump’s opponents on stage were simply going through the motions. Trump spent the night running down the clock and the remaining candidates spent the night checking the boxes. For at least two of them, this was their last chance to distinguish themselves in advance of what will likely be the most crucial primary day of the cycle next Tuesday.

Rubio, in particular, seemed most chastened by his earlier decision to get in the gutter with Trump. Gone were the snide remarks about genitalia

Speaking of bad hair...what was up with Carsick last night?

His hair looked like he just crawled out of bed after a 3 day bender.

Online election/debate poll stuffing reminds me of the ‘online poll’ support for Ron Paul and Howard Dean.

Funny you should mention H. Long(1935).

That same thought came to mind to me yesterday as I was driving, as

I was musing how history can turn in a moment.

I’m on record wanting Newt. But I agree, let’s not get too far ahead and we should expect the unexpected. UNLESS, Trump needs to make a deal because he isn’t over the threshold. Actually, Trump may need to make a deal anyway to get these NeverTrump folks on board. If the party mends with a Trump / Rubio ticket, then so be it. We’ll just have to see...

The prepper bracelet which I have not seen Cruz wear before seems like something suggested by Beck who has hocked prepper companies and Goldline for years. Pandering to frightened people to get extra votes. I think being prepared for disaster is reasonable but Beck has terrified people to his own financial benefit.

Google up Rick Wilson's comments if you think it's so "ridiculous" and re-visit Glenn Beck's comments about "the stabbing would never stop" (of course he was kidding with his producer 'Stu').

Say hello to all the other ostriches in your neighborhood.

When Trump repeatedly called Putin a “strong leader” without refusing to place a value judgment on his leadership,

These people are English challenged. Have they never heard of a "strongman"?

Not enough of a name draw to pacify the Resistance and keep the campaign fresh, but Gingrich should be a key advisor for sure

I think all the good Senators like Sessions need to be kept in the Senate where they can have the Trump administration’s back

Some I thought were possibilities are proving disloyal to Trump and by extension- to the will and faith of the people. I don’t think this will be forgiven. Rubio , unlike Fredo Corleone, may be given a chance to grow up into the administration, if he is assessed to be morally clean and mentor-worthy. However if Marco has vices in his past, and If he bought a house for a female lobbyist using govt money, then Bye, Felicia.

Watch the conservatives who are staying silent and distant from “ never trump” and the Bush cabal

Has Scott Walker been heard from lately?

That’s the “boxing match” comparison.

But it’s not a boxing match.

Prime time, reality TV, gotchas, instantaneous gratification, and extremely limited short-term perspective is no way to get through life - and they aren’t standards for electing a leader.

It might be entertaining for some (not to me), but we shouldn’t be looking for an entertainer. We are looking for a leader. That’s Ted Cruz, not “The Donald.” “Believe me.”

The stock market crash certainly was a factor in causing the Great Depression. Other factors, bank failures in the midwest due to droughts, the failure of a large bank in Austria, the rise of Hitler, almost a perfect storm so to speak, a convergence of many factors. Also, mixed signals from the federal government, Smoot-Hawley, inaction from the FED or counterproductive actions from the FED etc. etc.

As I’ve said if Trump becomes president we will have accomplished the almost impossible by electing someone who himself and his supporters on his behalf have a thinner skin than the last guy.
