It's unclear why Bush is meeting with the three contenders, but the fact that he's not meeting with Trump signals he is trying to strengthen any efforts that could bring down the GOP frontrunner.
The former governor, who dropped out of the race after South Carolina's primary last month, hasn't indicated whether he would formally endorse any of his former rivals before the critical winner-take-all primary in Florida next Tuesday.

I think Mr. Trump should just not go to any more debates. The last one was just nasty, and these nasty witch-hunt debates cannot possibly help him at all. Besides which, if he is not there, who is going to watch them anyway?
The real question is why are they meeting with him? Cruz, the alleged outsider, is meeting with the consummate insider. Cruz is the stealth GOPe candidate. Maybe Jeb will decide whom to endorse after he screens them.
He’s meeting them individually and has memorized his lines:
“Kasich just go after Trump, we’ve got your back with Cruz and Rubio. You’re our man!”
“Rubio just go after Trump, we’ve got your back with Cruz and Kasich. You’re our man!”
“Cruz just go after Trump, we’ve got your back with Kasich and Rubio. You’re our man!”
The GOPe is hoping he can remember which line is for which candidate.
