GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz tells The Brody File that the reason Donald Trump is performing well in the GOP race for president is because his voters are uninformed and not engaged in the process. Donald does well with voters who have relatively low information, who are not that engaged and who are angry and they see him as an angry voice. Where we are beating him is when voters get more engaged and they get more informed. Hunch: Im thinking Trump and his Silent Majority may push back on this just a bit dont you think? Lots to unpack here but for now, heres the clip.
Our interview was done Wednesday afternoon in Miami.

Majority of FR are low information.
I thought lying Canadian Cruz follower are nasty here.
Hey did you hear Thy Royal Majesty King tRumpf last weekend, he said he had heard Rubo was dropping out! Yeah Really, it's on tape. DONALD LIES!
Guess Cruz looks down his long nose at people in NH, Massachusetts, and Hawaii also. Next week I predict he will add several more states.
Did Cruz look at the Demographics of those who supported him in Texas, Oklahoma, Iowa, and Kansas? They are the same hard working demographic of people as Trump’s. Is he putting them down too? Does Cruz see them as gullible rather than uninformed?
We are share the desire in a change of direction of government. We disagree on the best person to achieve that. Cruz, please do not try to further divide us by putting down supporters in a personal way. Too much of that is happening on FR now.
In context with all the other demographic groups he lists across the spectrum. Cruz’s statement is easily refuted, which is a thing he doesn’t seem to care about, which means what? What does that tell you of his opinion of his own supporters?!
I liked Cruz and he was my second choice.
I guess since I am a “low information” voter, I should study up and reconsider that.
Given the level of ignorance and self delusion rampant among the Trump supporters, it would be far preferable if they werent so engaged.”
“self delusion”??
I am so glad I read your post, because maybe you can explain Cruz’s votes to me. I have been trying for months, and asking the same question, but no one has even offered an attempt.
First, of course, is the TPA vote. TPA is an Obama/globalist agenda initiative. Cruz worked with Paul Ryan, Mr. Establishment, to get it rolling. He wrote pieces for the media extolling it. When Sessions warned him about language in the bill that usurped Congress’s authority over immigration, he said Sessions did not know what he was talking about. The bill was completely toxic even without that in it.
He voted for cloture to get TPA to the floor for a vote, and as Cruz himself has pointed out, a vote for cloture is a vote for the bill. Then he voted for the bill. So that is TWO votes for TPA.
When the bill passed the House and returned to the Senate, he voted against the bill because his vote was no longer needed for passage. It also afforded him the opportunity to go about the country and tell all the low-information types that he voted against TPA. Or, more famously, he was for it before he was against it.
He later told Levin on his show that he had to vote against the bill the second time because he did not know about the immigration language and that “leadership” had promised him they would remove it, but did not. Cruz lied.
Next, he voted for the Corker bill, an Obama/globalist agenda initiative, a bill that was written by the White House that plainly and quickly enabled the Iran treaty, which contravened the Constitution. Cruz, Mr. Constitution, never blinked an eye.
Can you explain these votes by Cruz, a man highly touted that just will not bow to the Establishment, a man who stands rock-ribbed in defense of the Constitution, except the natural born clause, of course.
“Its not that the Trupettes dont know much, even though thats true, its that so much of what they do know is wrong.”
You’re so wonderfully smart. You should know that when you quote Ronald Reagan, even changing a few words, you should cite that at the end of the quote.
“It isn’t so much that liberals are ignorant. It’s just that they know so many things that aren’t so.” - Ronald Wilson Reagan.
FUTC. You trying to burn the last bridge remaining with a lot of voters you would need in November should the nomination miracle happen? This is good way to do it.
Trumpbots are emotionally attached to flipping the bird and thinking Donald can get away with his lack of civility on their behalf. Suckers for sound bytes.
When supporters are attached emotionally, they act emotionally. Mature adults recognize the foolishness of feeling rather than thinking.
“Well he tells it like it is.”
He did, now he’s telling it like it’s GOPe.
“Many dont want to even look at Trumps history or record on any political action.”
This is “He’s a NY Liberal” argument. Most of Trump supporters are forced to look at it every night on CNN, ABC, NBC, NYT, etc etc.
Everyone is well aware of it, it’s not the issue that matters.
“Nope that would dilute the image of thy Royalty King tRumpf.”
Mindless insults.
“As to insulting, who was it that called the Iowa voters Stupid?”
Trump, and he lost.
Get it?
Next.
Engaged enough to know that Cruz continues to side-step the potentially fatal issue of his natural born citizenship (NBC) eligibility, avoiding settling the issue one way or the other in federal court. There is a genuine dispute of material legal issues about his status at the time of birth and the effect of his foreign citizenship.
The original purpose for NBC was a heightened loyalty to America, greater than naturalization, which purpose may have been legally compromised by his foreign citizenship even if he was a NBC at birth. Both his NBC status at birth and his Canadian citizenship are material legal issues which need resolution in a federal court.
IMO, CRUZ is not paying attention.
“And what he didnt say, but is clearly understood, it that because Southerners are, for the most part, evangelical Christians, hes insulting Christians, too. Its sour grapes; he thought hed have them hook, line, and sinker. And he was wrong.”
I am glad you added that. I thought about that just after I posted. This will come up in the debate tonight. Cruz will use lawyer talk to try to wiggle out of it, and then will go off on a tangent to filibuster it.
Either they’re uninformed, or they’re incredibly horrible people. He’s paying them a compliment. Uninformed is not really an insult.
“47 percent”.
Now that video clip is on CNN on Carol Costello’s show.
wow, now his elitism is coming out too.
Keep going Cruz because you are pissing a hell of a lot of voters with this crap. Why not state the issues instead of just keep parroting the same crap talking points like they need to drop out, don’t vote for them vote for me as I will beat Trump.
Yea and how are you going to do that when you can’t even get cross over voters or non party voters?
What a disgusting, vile person.
He sits there cutting Trump’s throat about business giving, and who the businesses gave to, while he himself was ALSO a recipient of that giving! HE received Trump money too, and stands there now cutting the throat of a man who was good to him????
Those people whom he’s criticising, Trump’s supporters who received a bad education? That’s the American educational system! Trump wants to fix that. They are also TAX PAYERS and Cruz wants their money as well...and obviously, he will cut their throats once he gets it.
What a horrible POS, and his supporters think Trump’s supporters are stupid??????
I can’t listen to that man’s voice or endure his crooked mask anymore.
Shorty wants to insult the very people he needs to win. Smart move, not.
Excellent post. Appreciate the Reagan quote, it is spot on.
