For months, news has trickled out of Missouri regarding the negative fallout from the fall student protests. The university capitulated in the face of a racial crisis wholly of the protesters manufacture (demanding a chancellors resignation over random racial incidents completely outside his control), and the chickens are truly coming home to roost. Previously, Ive posted about declining student applications and declining donations, yet the true dimensions of the financial disaster are only just now coming into focus. Fox Sports has obtained a copy of the interim chancellors letter to the university community: I am writing to you today to confirm that we project a very significant budget shortfall due to an unexpected sharp decline in first-year enrollments and student retention this coming fall. I wish I had better news. The anticipated declines which total about 1,500 fewer students than current enrollment at MU in addition to a small number of necessary investments are expected to leave us with an approximate $32 million budget gap for next year. A smaller entering freshman class will have continuing impact on finances as they progress toward their degrees at MU.

They need to quit bowing down to these domestic terrorists.
Who would want to send a White child to a university where they will be harassed instead of educated? Save your money, especially if you have a White son, and get him set up in business instead of sending him to a university that condones his persecution by the teaching faculty, administration, and Leftist students.
To do the math, that means that they missed $15.5-plus million (not counting that most would have stayed in their dorms and paid another $15.5-plus million for dorm and food). Oh, and those fancy sweatshirts and t-shirts that the freshmen all buy? That’s probably $300,000 that the campus shop missed selling. So, it’s almost $32-million.
Will it come back next year? Don’t beat on it. Will you have to downsize some departments? It’s best not to bring this up right now...it’d really anger a number of professors to learn that 10-percent of their department might have to leave suddenly.
Your brandname is screwed up....you can’t get the ‘customers’ back...and money will get tight. You wonder now....would they be stupid enough to raise their yearly tuition from $10,600 to $11,600 to make up for the loss (starting in August of this year)? My humble guess is they would be that stupid.
Don’t worry MU. ‘Obama the Great’ will save your butt with objecting taxpayer’s money.
Send in the National Guard, with fixed bayonets. Won’t take long for them to winkle the nasty buggers out of their foxholes.
Well, it was a nice thought, anyways...
No problem. Missouri has taxpayers. They can just ante up Mo Money.
What? Letting the inmates run the asylum has damaging repercussions? I’m shocked.
2. Sell the campus to a private entity.
3. Refund the proceeds, if any, to MO taxpayers.
If there are no Freshman, there is no need for all the freshman instructors.
Coach Pinkel on his way out the door gave an open field to whatever their little hearts desired. This after a year of a QB that was continually getting suspended and finally kicked off the team
He'll be joined by another transfer Nigel Goss-Williams (from UW), and a top-20 recruiting class, the first ever for Gonzaga.
There is a reason the football coach retired. Just looked up their recruiting rank and they came in at #51 which is last in the SEC. Vanderbilt even ranked higher. That $32 million dollar shortfall may get worse. Football is the cash cow for most schools and revenue usually helps fund other sports. It could get ugly, just what they deserve....
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Well, as a life-long Jayhawk I have not spent a lot of time pulling for Mizzoo.
However, as I spent most of my life in the Kansas City area and still get back to the Lake, many friends are Tiger fans. They were all deeply embarrassed about the turn of events last year. Pinkel had been in a death-spiral for about four years — his behavior showed it.
The football coach left because he has stage 3/4 cancer. Can’t hate a guy for that. His handling of the team on the way out the door however left something to be desired. A lot of donors/alums are pi$$ed.
Football recruiting has always ranked near the bottom of the SEC for the short time that they’ve been in the SEC. It was the same with the Big XII before that. Despite that Mizzou won 2 East Div. titles. This next season will be a big one: new coach, how many season ticket holders will renew?
Mizzou is funded by state tax money. Mizzou is advancing a socialist, post-modern agenda that is a direct and present danger to the citizens of the state.
No employer in his right mind would hire a Mizzou graduate. Given the pervasive political correctness and how it is imposed on students who are forced to stand still and be indoctrinated and scolded, it is difficult to see how anyone who objects to this agenda could stay enrolled at the school. He would be ejected for not cooperating with the institutional indoctrination.
As far as I am concerned as a taxpayer, SHUT IT DOWN until the citizens can gain control and restore rational thought.
There are plenty of other undergrand programs elsewhere that students could transfer to. Far better to have no Mizzou than to have what we have today.
