There's still a chance that Marco Rubio could secure the Republican nomination as the U.S. presidential candidate for 2016, with John Kasich as his running mate.
My prediction, while seemingly improbable (though certainly no more so than if you had predicted Donald Trump would become the Republican front runner and discuss his manhood at a GOP debate) comes after careful consideration of the Florida senator's operations and ground game in Florida.
Despite a poor showing in Tuesday's primaries and polls indicating Rubio is losing Florida, his knowledge of the Sunshine state and his grassroots support from locals could ultimately bring a surprise victory in his home state. Florida has always been an odd-duck for pollsters, given the diversity of the population, its age and a poor showing yesterday in the primaries income disparity, its opposing ideologies and nuanced community needs.

What if Cruz is pResident, with a Bush as V.P.....now follow along here....So right after, maybe a few months later, something ‘happens’ to Cruz and then this ‘Bush’ would be pResident...goal all along...and people can't see it...
Remember Reagan/Bush....the night before Reagan was shot, Bush was at the Hinkley’s home in Denver, Colorado for dinner...we all knew about the Hinkleys and their son that had been jailed for various different reasons, including some mental illness problems, and then Reagan gets shot the very next day?
So be careful people...
Is that like Jeb plan to lose the primary to win the general?
Unless a time-machine is involved in the scenario, I don’t have to read beyond the headline.
Not this Floridian Cruzer. I want nothing to do with Rubio. I'd rather have Cruz/Kasich, and that should prove how deep the animus is.
Unicorns converge on Washington and release candy canes out of their rear ends?
Cheating.
The only way Rubio wins is djt and Cruz both have fatal accidents.
I don’t think there’s ever been a VP pick before the primary is over.
Kasich/ Rubio because on a losing ticket, only the second name can continue to run again in 16 years.
Don’t even joke...
I remember that Reagan picked Schweiker early in '72, but I don't remember whether that was before or after the primaries were over (FD: I was a young twerp working for McGovern at the time, I have since seen the light).
I’m getting some really poignant stuff, really weepy. hope it doesn’t kill the grass along the walk where they snivel away.
What do the lottery ads say: You can’t win if you don’t play.
Rubio has a better chance of hitting the jackpot on a Powerball ticket then getting the nomination.
But it “is a chance”. :-)
Delusional in the extreme.
I was born and lived in Florida until 2006
As I recall early voting in Florida ran about 60%.
A little late even if Cruz had a chance
Rubio could win the nomination?
Rubio would have a better chance juggling flaming chainsaws while riding a unicycle.
What a laughable thing.
People who stories like this one delude themselves.
Its human nature to avoid facing reality if it comforts us.
But its not making us the people we’re meant to be and misleading others with a lie is not a service.
Saying Boobio has a chance to win when he has no chance in truth of all is a form of mockery.
That’s what we don’t deserve.
