Vote for Ted Cruz: Joseph Farah endorses candidate with the 'most Reaganesque vision'

It's been a strange 2016 election cycle.

On the Democratic side, it's a contest between a former senator and secretary of state who should and could be indicted at any moment for shocking breeches of national security laws and an avowed socialist who once honeymooned in the Soviet Union.

Pick your poison.

On the Republican side, it's been a wild ride with Donald Trump dominating the news coverage and frequently displaying behavior unprecedented in presidential politics in modern times.

It's been brutally contentious, sometimes ugly and, at times, hilarious.

Technically, there are four candidates still in the hunt for the Republican nomination. But realistically, it's down to two from the original 17.

The Republican presidential nominee is going to be either Donald Trump or Ted Cruz.

While Marco Rubio has been spending money like a contender, he simply hasn't demonstrated that he is more than a place or show candidate - the Minnesota caucuses and the Puerto Rico primary notwithstanding. John Kasich seems like a two-state candidate - having spent more than $30 million and 60 days campaigning in New Hampshire for a second-place finish and hanging around for his home state Ohio vote in hopes of a win....

Meet 'the new birthers'[2014]

'So if anyone has the right and the duty to weigh in on Ted Cruz’s eligibility, it’s me – even though no one is asking.

My answer is, “I don’t care.”

I don’t care because the Constitution was not written and ratified to be applied to some and not others. If no one cared about Obama’s questionable eligibility, despite his shocking lack of transparency and thin paper trail, then they have no business questioning Ted Cruz – who has released his birth certificate, renounced his Canadian citizenship and upheld every provision of the Constitution to the best of his ability throughout his life.

For the record, I would have preferred if the issue of natural born citizenship were openly debated and discussed before Obama assumed office and began his all-out jihad on the Constitution. I would have preferred if my colleagues in the news media had taken seriously their responsibility to be watchdogs on government and hold all politicians accountable to the rule of law. I would have preferred if the motivations of those of us seeking the truth about Obama’s eligibility status and life story had never been impugned.'

I was thinking about the MSM, too. If the owners are as politically astute as we think, they too are not only thinking about the money, but what giving DT all the free publicity and gaining support would do to the republicans. I never did understand how his supporters could just ignore that and then not trust the conservatives we used as sources for conservative issues for decades.

Cruz has his own quirky sense of humor and has never had acting lessons like Reagan or DT. DT’s humor is a lot like locker room humor but Reagan had class. Cruz speaks like a lawyer and really does need to take those lessons.

Reagan offered positives. Trump offers positives. You feast on negatives.

If by "negatives" you mean boots to the teeth offered by Trump people, well, yeah, that would be correct.

Reagan was so genuinely likeable. Cruz? Er, not so much, to put it charitably.

Oh, well, hell, let's have Joe Stalin in here, then. That guy always had a smile and a twinkle in his eye ... a little hard to read, maybe, but always good-humored and easy-going. Yeah, Uncle Joe, he's the guy for me!

Do I really need a tag for that?

“but the facts are the establishment is now backing Cruz and Cruz has no problem being on their side as he will not disavow them or even attack them”

Has Trump disavowed Christie who was an “establishment” or GOP-e anti-Trump candidate who was there for the GOP-e if needed? Trump was glad to have his endorsement.

very good point. WND another hypocritical rag.

Look Obama is not born here, oh wait we have a man who quotes scripture and not born here, hell he was Canadian two years ago but we have no problem with that.

Look yourself, every court in America told every complainant, even candidates like Alan Keyes, that nobody but nobody in the United States had "standing" to challenge Obama because he was black ..... oh, excuse me, because he was a big 'Rat ..... oh, wait, it was because he was crypto-Moslem can't pick on crypto-Moslems ...... or some other deal ..... nobody but nobody has "standing" to make even ONE damn complaint about Barky, even if they have photos of him being born on the dark side of Mars.

So what the hell is anyone supposed to conclude from all this? That courts don't GAS about where people were born or what their citizenship is, if they're running for the Big Job?

By the way, where were you seven, eight years ago, when the Birthers were getting sneered at and laughed at and even Limbaugh and Mike Medved were saying, look, I don't care what your issue is, you are not going to get a single federal court in this country to look at the credentials of the First Black _Resident, I don't care who you are and what your issue is. This was the Good Guys talking like this.

Remember, in the general our candidate will be running against Hillary not against multiple other Republucan candidates. I am not certain that the results of the primaries will be prophetic of what happens in each state in the general.

Thanks for your post, I concur with a lot of what you said.

I'm still disappointed that nobody in government, anywhere, gives a damn about the strong possibility that Obama took office fraudulently, and the lead-pipe certainty that he despised the laws and despised specifically white voters by reneging his credentials and going with a "street" (black-on-white criminality) response.

Trump is the guy they have to slow down and stop, that's why all the spending and wicked rodomontade against Trump.

Cruz won't be able to bring the eight (inflated from five, two years ago, in the "Rules") States required to allow his name to be placed in nomination.

Cruz will be excluded on technicalities, but Trump they have to shred, vilify, and lie to death. Happy now?

They're going to steal the nomination in front of God and everybody. It's their party, nobody else's.

“Does the establishment back Trump or Cruz?

Simple question.”

The establishment appeared to be gravitating towards Trump as the “deal maker” instead of Senator Cruz who has exhibited that he will stand firm and do what he says and will reduce the size of government, protect our borders and enforce existing laws. They, the establishment, may have come to the same conclusion I have, that Trump is a liberal democrat masquerading as a Republican, a RINO. That wouldn’t really bother the GOP-e. but they as I, may have also concluded that Trump is mentally unstable and has a severe personality disorder. They have apparently decided to go with the SANE Conservative, after all they call themselves conservatives. If Trump were to win the nomination he would be calling for them, the GOP-e, the establishment, as well as Conservatives like me to join his campaign because it would be too important to let hillary bernie or whatever socialist that gets the democrat nomination to win. Trump would welcome Jeb, Rubio, Graham, Mitt, Ryan or any other Rino’s support just as he welcomed Christie’s. But you want to attack Senator Cruz for accepting the support of a “Rino” that finds Trump totally unacceptable yet Trump gladly accepts totally unacceptable, to me, opportunistic, establishment, GOP-e, Christie.

“LOL Yea OK that is why they have spent millions against Trump and some on the establishment have said they would never vote for Trump, but would for Cruz

Seriously you need to look at facts”

I’ve looked at the facts, all the facts. That’s why I’m voting for Conservative Senator Cruz. I’m not influenced by lies, name calling, and distortions. I’m one of those who’ve said they will never vote for Trump. I do not vote for liberals or democrats posing as conservative republicans nor will I vote for or support some one who is likely mentally unstable or who has a severe personality disorder. Trump is severely narcissistic which can be a symptom of a sociopath but but always. Some of the symptoms of narcissism include the over use of superlatives in lieu of factual are pertinent adjectives, a lack of empathy where they will mock the afflicted or resort to name calling and immature taunts, they tend to be vindictive, ( we really need a vindictive President who sees no need in getting rid of the IRS ), they will surround themselves with those who pump them up and those they can put down. Does any of this appear remotely familiar to you? You’re right this is a very important election year, way to important to trust our future to someone who is not what he says he is and is very likely to be unstable.
