(CNN)Donald Trump is leading Marco Rubio in the Florida senator's home state by 8 percentage points, a Monmouth University poll out Monday shows.
Trump has the support of 38% of Florida's likely GOP primary voters, compared to 30% who back Rubio, 17% for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and 10% for Ohio Gov. John Kasich.
The snapshot of Florida comes before the state's crucial 99-delegate, winner-take-all primary set for March 15.
It's a must-win for Rubio, who has fallen behind Trump and Cruz in the delegate race after taking only two of the first 20 Republican contests.
The poll undercuts the argument that Rubio could win if he faced Trump head-to-head: The real-estate mogul leads a one-on-one race, 47% to 45%.
The poll shows Rubio leading among Floridians who have already cast their ballots in early voting, while Trump does better with those who haven't voted yet.

Funny there were no pollsters when my wife and I both voted on Saturday and we both voted for Trump.
Another Monmouth outliar poll.
Right but as he keeps (badly) losing contest after contest - tomorrow he's likely to lose everything very badly - it will likely undercut his appeal at home, which gives an opening to Trump as Cruz siphons votes away from Rubio.
Interesting in that it states that Rubio leads among early voters (those that have already cast a vote). Trump leads with those that have yet to vote. I’d like to see the breakdown of early voters.
Surprised that Rubio leads in early voting, I would have expected Trump.
That’s 95% coverage.
Trump at 38%. Non-Trump at 57%
If they stay split, Trump gets winner take all with a non-majority.
When I read the headline I read (Donald Trump 38, Mitt Romney 30/Ted Cruz 17). Then I thought, oh yeah, Marco Rubio is also MR. Then I thought, no I was really right the first time.
Lol...that was my fear after I wrote it.
Rubiobot’s out as far as I’m concerned. I already voted. :)
We’ve been getting 2-3 daily Robo calls to support Rubio. They’re using the usual suspects to plead for him. Mel Martinez, Ander Crenshaw and others.
Is the Cruz surge over already?
Let’s see what the final count of the actual votes say.
Ping
The snowbirds voted before heading back north to vote again in their home state.
If everyone prints ballots with “MR,” then they won’t have to make adjustments later.
Rubio isn’t doing so well when the pollsters call my house
I and the family are waiting for voting day to go.
Or, that's 10% Cruzer and 90% anti-CRuzer. Cruz is the spoiler. Time for the liar, hypocrite to stop fooling the flock and stealing non-establishment votes. Get out now Cruz and save the country.
