Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas) said on Sunday that the media is sitting on explosive negative information about front-runner Donald Trump with plans to run it later in the year to tear the candidate apart.
"I think an awful lot of reporters — I can't tell you how many media outlets I hear, you know, have this great exposé on Donald, on different aspects of his business dealings or his past, but they said, 'You know what? We're going to hold it to June or July,'" Cruz said on CBS's "Face The Nation" Sunday. "We're not going to run it now."
Cruz said the media has given the front-runner "hundreds of millions of dollars of free advertising." Every press conference Trump has is shown on every television station, he said, noting the media helped create this "phenomenon."
"And all of the attacks on Donald that the media is not talking about now, you'd better believe come September, October, November — if he were the nominee — every day on the nightly news would be taking Donald apart," he said.

He is a little slow on the uptake. This has been obvious since day one.

Why would they use it now? They’d use it after the convention.
They're going to go through every case the law whiz ever worked on to find something damaging.

OBVIOUSLY they’ll take down Cruz, but only after Cruz is able to take down Trump.
...and then it’s ROMNEY TO THE RESCUE!
If Trump doesn’t win this election, none of us, Cruz supporter or Trump supporter, will ever be allowed to have an opinion ever again.
I’ve been hearing rumors since Wednesday of some big anti-Trump story that is set to break soon, but it’s apparently not something the media is sitting on as Cruz suggests, because the stop-Trump people have it. Supposedly one of the reasons he didn’t appear at CPAC.
May just be election year scuttlebutt. Time will tell.

Maybe he didn’t go to CPAC because he didn’t want to get stabbed.
They’re trying hard to keep Trump form winning the nomination,I think they would hit him with everything they have now.
They know that Hillary can’t withstand a debate with Trump.

I think it’s scuttlebutt. Pretty sure Trump got wind of the walkout plans and also, he got into a tiff with someone about who/how he’d have to answer questions.
Considering how it all played out, given the CPAC straw poll results, confirmations of the planned walkout, and standing ovations for GOPe stooges, he was smart to skip it.
