Cruz: Media is sitting on bombshells about Donald Trump
The Hill ^ | 3/6/2016 | Rebecca Savransky

Posted on 03/06/2016 1:42:39 PM PST by 20yearsofinternet

Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas) said on Sunday that the media is sitting on explosive negative information about front-runner Donald Trump with plans to run it later in the year to tear the candidate apart.

"I think an awful lot of reporters — I can't tell you how many media outlets I hear, you know, have this great exposé on Donald, on different aspects of his business dealings or his past, but they said, 'You know what? We're going to hold it to June or July,'" Cruz said on CBS's "Face The Nation" Sunday. "We're not going to run it now."

Cruz said the media has given the front-runner "hundreds of millions of dollars of free advertising." Every press conference Trump has is shown on every television station, he said, noting the media helped create this "phenomenon."

"And all of the attacks on Donald that the media is not talking about now, you'd better believe come September, October, November — if he were the nominee — every day on the nightly news would be taking Donald apart," he said.

What is your "source"?

Oh, after your fake shower tell me who told you that unsubstantiated rumor.

THINK, THINK, THINK. It would be great if some like of Trump’s supporters like yourself would do a little serious contemplation. I guess the only way we’ll find out if Cruz is blowing smoke is if we have the cursed luck of a Trump nomination.

If you’re the media and you want Hillary, why the hell would you use any bombshells about Trump now. Let the sap get the nomination and then nuke him. Donald Trump has to have so much trash in this background, it’s unreal. He has dumped two wives for mistresses, been a serial adulterer, made much money off casino gambling and lies up a storm. You think there’s nothing more in his sleaze closet. Go back to sleep. You don’t get reality.

They may find something on Cruz but it is much more likely they have real damaging dirt on someone as notorious as Trump.

DING, DING, DING. You win. Great post. You’re exactly right. There will be so much trash on the Donald.

No, sorry, you’re the one building the image of a smarmy jerk for yourself — Cruz isn’t.

I’m still laughing about all the Trump supporters on this website who claimed that their cult hero, the Donald, would win all 50 states on his way to the GOP nomination. How’s that working out, pal?

Cruz did fire his spokesman Rick Tyler — and apologized.

WHEN THE HELL, HAS TRUMP EVER ACCEPTED RESPONSIBILITY FOR ONE THING? He’s a joke and so are many Trump supporters on this website.

Just remember, Trump is a strong Christian and reads the Bible more than anyone on Earth — even though he doesn’t need forgiveness, dumped two wives for mistresses and is a serial adulterer. THE Trump supporters are backing a man with no character. Trump = Clinton: same age, same ego, same morals. CONGRATULATIONS MAN.

You call a slimeball. Look at your man — the serial adulterers, dumper of wives for mistresses, earner of money through casino gambling, a person named in 179 lawsuits, including a federal court fraud case about to start this summer. Watch for rocks in your glass house.

If the media "have this great exposé on Donald, on different aspects of his business dealings or his past," then why doesn't Cruz' opposition research have it, too?

If you’d read my history you would know that I don’t have a man I haven’t come out for anybody, I honstly hadn’t made up my mind
. I still havn’t except I now know who I won’t vote for. And yes Cruz is a slimeball. Mr serious constitutional conservative shows himself to be a lowball politiican. That’s the truth in this story.

Why in the world would I be scared of a “documentary?” Unlike some people, I don’t think my candidate of choice is God-like and can move mountains with a snap of his fingers, nor have I invested myself in his winning or losing. If I lose faith in him, I’ll choose another, but it’ll take a lot for me to do so. You see, I’ve examined the rest of the field and found them sorely wanting...pathetic in fact...so I don’t think I’ll be switching horses in midstream any time soon. Bring on those “scary” Trump documentaries then. Just remember, your candidate has skeletons too, lol.

Goodness, you’ve been here since 1998 but I don’t recall you posting much. Suddenly, you’ve been posting nonstop in the last few months, expounding on the virtues of Cruz while denigrating Trump and his supporters at every turn. It’s almost like it’s a job to you. Say...wait a minute.

It’s interesting that you have to insult people to try to make a point.Indicates a small mind.

Then don’t vote for him. It’s doubtful that the United States will survive another four or five years as a constitutional republic. She is on the ropes now, and will be on life support within two years. What replaces the constitutional republic will be something no sane person would ever wish for.

Telling you why I can’t vote for your man
sorry you don’t like the message
But Ted’s likeability polls are going to tank
And he will never win the US presidency
He gives off creepy vibes, like Romney did
But at least Romney had a fan club/support group
Ted does not
The democrats know this

I usually think the same way as the mainstream so I am pretty sure many many other people feel the same

So here I am- shoot the messenger

As usual Cruz is blowing smoke. Trump as lives in a glass bubble in the media center of planet Earth. There are no bomb shells out there. Pathetic attempt by Cruz to suppress voter turn out.

So you are fine with replacing the USA, Canada and Mexico with a North American Union ruled over by unelected bureaucrats just like they do in Europe?

Twitter feeds by operatives within the campaigns and a couple of closed membership discussion groups. Just chatter, but I’m beginning to think it may be true, considering these this morning:

https://www.yahoo.com/politics/trump-challenged-over-ties-to-mob-linked-gambler-100050602.html

http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2016-03-07/trump-tower-financed-by-rich-chinese-who-invest-cash-for-visas

Nothing Trump does seems to matter to his true believers, so it remains to be seen whether they will even care.

Who do you think has the most dirt, Cruz or Trump?

More dirt on Trump than Cruz. So far Trump has been able to survive, though that may not always be the case. Cruz, though, paints himself as such a straight arrow that it won't take much to make him look dirty.

I'd have to say that there are certainly going to be more lifestyle scandals relating to Trump. Maybe none relating to Cruz. But my guess is that the Democrats will take the cases Cruz has worked on and spin them into something that could really hurt his candidacy.

Having been a corporate lawyer in personal liability cases, Ted isn't immune from being hit with the kind of stuff that can be thrown at Romney or Trump. He better make sure now that every little old lady he ever faced in a trial isn't mad at him.

I understand the dynamic you’re trying to present. The problem is it’s all wrong.

You’re trying to interpret a series of intangibles in such a way as to convince yourself the favorite to take the world heavyweight boxing title is the white guy.

You do NOT get the FACT that what the media “has” on somebody is utterly irrelevant! They can, have, and will, contrive whatever is even somewhat plausible to produce the narrative they’re looking for.

Trump is the only candidate that has proven his ability to defeat such efforts.

As far as media exposure goes, Cruz was little more than a baby bird that had fallen out of the nest before it became a suspicion that he was the only other candidate that could make a serious dent in Trump’s support base.

I’m on record here as a Cruz supporter until it became obvious to me that he could not break out of the media blockade raised against him by his own efforts. Hell, I can remember Fox reciting the list of candidates WITHOUT EVEN MENTIONING Cruz!

The whole notion the media has “taken it easy” on Trump, or that he considers them his “friends” is laughable. There has NEVER been a candidate so openly antagonistic toward the press. That is simply an irrefutable fact.

The media HAS to cover Trump, as much as they’d rather not, because what he says and does is NEWS: no payoffs needed. And his ability to manipulate that dynamic has made him not only the front runner, but the only Republican who could possibly stay effective in office without being mired down with the contrived controversies the media has used to cripple Republicans throughout modern history.

He is self-funding his campaign, he isn’t a puppet of special interests or corporate donors, and he’s not a politician!!!! They cause most of our problems and attempt to control our lives, and then they want our vote so the cycle can continue. No thanks.

Now I’m sure you’ll post all kinds of links and comments telling me how stupid and naive I am, and how much better (_______) is. However, I’m not interested. I’m pretty politically knowledgable and I decided on Trump months ago. The reaction of the GOPe and DC pundits and insiders tells me they’re worried, as they should be.
