New York woman arrested for driving with a handmade license plate.
On Friday, CBS News reported that Amanda Schweickert, 28, of Sardinia is in trouble for using a fake license plate. She is not supposed to be driving because she has a suspended registration and no car insurance. However, it did not stop her from using a little creativity.
She decided to create her own license plate. Authorities say she used a piece of cardboard and painted blue text on it. Although the plate didnt look too dreadful, it fooled no one. On Wednesday, a police officer pulled Schweickert over in Springville after noticing the odd-looking license plate. Her charges include felony count of possessing a forged instrument, operating a vehicle with a suspended registration, and three traffic violations. Authorities locked her up and set bail set at $400.
The Eerie County Sheriffs Department posted a photograph of the fake plate on their Facebook page. The department also included a reminder that using a fake license plate is illegal. The department takes their license plate offenses seriously.

I’m not very good at decoding vanity plates. What is that supposed to mean?
She’ll be stamping out real ones if they throw her in prison.
She sounds like a real scofflaw.
LA most always had great local news anchors.. even some of the ones that later on went national and became left wing a-holes were a lot better when out here
Tom Brokaw was a local KNBC anchor with Kelly Lang for years.....I liked Tom when he was out
And moon bat crazy Keith Oberman was the local sports guy on KTLA news.. never knew he was a left wing nut case until he got on national........KTLA news was the home of George Putnam and Hal Fishman two of the most right wing news anchors you ever know
I’d like to arrest the insider criminals in government who felt it was A-OK to force folks to pay to re-register the same vehicle over and over and over, year in, year out.
All that did was to loot the tax payers even more of their income and created massive government agencies, which we are also charged for.
My friend tried to do a similar thing when he was a teenager about 30 years ago. Except all he had to forge was the tiny year sticker in the corner.
He did a pretty good job.
Of course, he got caught.
Cops will give the year sticker careful scrutiny when the plate comes up as out of date. He should have tried driving more carefully, and not getting pulled over. They didn’t have automatic plate checkers back then.
She should’ve faked a PA plate. There are plenty of those in NY.
and like said above, that's what color printers are for
she should have found a plate from on line, color copied it and glued it to cardboard or an old plate
Look at it backwards.
Oh my gosh, where and when did that happen?
