Rush Limbaugh went on FOX News Sunday to discuss the contentious Republican primary and recent developments including Mitt Romney’s scurrilous attacks on Donald Trump this week.
Rush Limbaugh told Chris Wallace – while Mitt Romney was listening – that Mitt did the same thing to Trump as his father did to Barry Goldwater in 1964.
Chris Wallace: Let’s start with Mitt Romney’s speech this week in which he basically joined the anybody but Trump movement. You say that that is going to backfire with Trump supporters and other voters are going to see it as the establishment trying to tell them what to do. With Mitt Romney listening explain what he’s missing.
Rush Limbaugh: Well, it’s all that and more but it’s not unprecedented. His dad did much the same thing against Barry Goldwater in a cabal with Republican establishment guys back in 1964. The establishment, this isn’t new. The establishment not wanting outsiders, not wanting conservatives, it isn’t anything new… Donald Trump is putting together a coalition that the Republican Party says is exactly what it needs to win. And, yet look what they’re doing. They’re trying to get Trump out of the race because they’re not in charge of it.

Those who throw Rush under the buss are the ones who need their opinions validated.
And when they're not, under the bus he goes.
Too many forget Rush is a political analyst and not a promoter of anyone.
He is above all, the most "Fair and balanced" analyst in the media.
Even if you don't agree with what he is saying, his reasoning is worth listening to.
Rush has been taking a lot of heat lately, but he was dead on in this interview. Most importantly he said that cooler heads are going to prevail, there will be no 3rd party spoiler from the GOPe and Republicans unite behind a candidate who can beat the Democrats. We have to hope so...
I have never felt so strongly that if the Democrats take the presidency again that the future of our country will be in grave danger. This is no time for Republicans to be spending hundreds of millions of dollars on attacks against someone on our own side.
The funny part was the Mitt was on air with him at the same time so Mitt heard everything Rush just said about him
That was one thing he said that I might take issue with.
If the GOPe somehow destroys Cruz and Trump, say in a brokered convention and shoves an establishment type down our throats, we just might see the same results Romney gave us with millions staying home.
If Rockefeller was alive today he would be closer in philosophy to Trump than any other candidate. Cruz comes closer to Goldwater and Reagan and it isn’t even debatable.
If elected Trump at best will be another Nixon or Ford the two worst republican presidents in my lifetime.
Why would a Trump supporter turn of Rush... I support Trump and listen to Rush ever day... Rush has been dead on right.most of this campaign
of all the people out there he gets it...he has be the most even-handed political analyst out there
Rush is quite correct about Romney, but not only Romney— back in the day it was Rockefeller,Scranton and Romney-— AND you know WHAT?
Lyndon Johnson composed an attack ad against Goldwater on the BASIS of what Romney said!!!
Now, considering that the Establishment wants to continue obmaumao/romneymao care as well as a host of trans-national NWO actions and world government trough for the elites- WHAT do you suppose the unindicted Hitlery would do already with MITT’s freaking speech? Since Hitlery and pervie Bill ARE the Lyndon Johnson redneck pervie wing of black hating black using democratic elite (who always, always conjure up to the good church going blacks the memory of JFK). Think about it.
AND, Rush is Right. Goldwater would have been the best President but we got the dregs from the murder of JFK (and the Johnson coverup of real criminal conspiracy with the help of insider soviet agents in LBJ and the regular government administtration— just as today we have muslims in place and marxists in place— and they are the same).
Here’s the LBJ ad— it should resonate, and remind you just what a s#$t Mitt is:

Trump said
It figures Cruz wins in Maine, its closest to Canada
Best line of the night
Interestingly, when Chris tried his hand at cross examining Romney, he neglected to ask whether Romney would accept a VP role for either of the 3 candidates.
In the context of the interview, Rush didn’t indicate that he thought that this was a serious possibility. If the GOPe were to hijack the front runners and install one of their own; it is hard to see how the electorate would unite behind their candidate.
I hope he is right because I agree completely with the rest of your post.
I don't trust the elitist for a minute though and I am not as confident as Rush is.
Didn’t you watch the video?
Wow, I needed to see that.
Trump for President.
Splitting.
Cruz supporters have been doing it. Trump supporters have been doing it.
In this campaign, you’re either 100% good or 100% evil, and there’s no middle ground, at least in the eyes of many of the most spiteful.
Therefore, even when Trump is promoting most of the policies that many conservatives have been screaming about for decades, he’s absolutely utterly evil because he’s daring to run against the sainted Ted Cruz.
And when Rush criticizes Trump, he’s therefore for Cruz or Rubio and therefore an establishment hack, because he’s not for the great man Trump.
Objectively, both men have their good and bad points, but when emotions are as they are in this campaign season, it’s not hard to fall into the splitting snare; it’s a normal defense mechanism, even if it’s a primitive one.
Agree with your worries— if we cannot wrest away the control of the establishment- getting the bushes and the clintons (as left and sort of right branches/members of the same cocaine finance NWO mil/industrial order, country club) then we, as a sovereign nation as conceived by the Founders and defended by generations of Loyal freedom loving real Americans— will be on our last breaths.
Not even sure it’s that much.
See post 55.
Barry Goldwater was considered an elder statesman some years after the election. LBJ was much despised by all, except Lady Bird, Linda Byrd, and Lucy Bird. Even Him and Her hated him , because he picked them up by the ears.
But you must understand— the GOPe would still maintain control of the party— and lose the election— and STILL keep their membership in Establishment country club.
They do not give a s#$t about their beloved “rank and file”.
How clever they are. And how f’n disgusting. If Trump is to be as unpopular as Nixon (who was Quaker and anti-communist remember) was to the elitist DC liberals RINOs etc and the media— then that would be far more acceptable, reversing the Nixonian leftist marxist/fascist actions of the current occupant. The issue, as Rush said— is they don’t control the party (or as he didn’t say- “or Trump”). They want control even if it means WE freaking LOSE.
Now think what kind of management people this means— the Little Lord Fauntleroy’s of Yale and Hahhhhvard and their paymasters in the NWO/neo-marxian/fabian socialist useful idiots in the press— they STILL get to run this last best hope of Freedom in the world— the dream and reality of our Founders? Not bloody likely (or maybe it will be bloody amongst the innocents).
Was that their names, those two Beagles? Didn't know that. I doubt they hated him, though, and as bad as it looked, I doubt they hated being picked up by their ears. If they had, they'd have run from him. Dogs are very forgiving creatures.
