Video: Why Senator Jeff Sessions Did Not Endorse Senator Ted Cruz…
Consevative Treehouse ^ | 3/5/16 | Sundance

Posted on 03/05/2016 5:37:50 AM PST by Amntn

During the debate last night Senator Ted Cruz was asked a direct question by Megyn Kelly about why didn’t Senator Jeff Sessions endorse him. Cruz artfully avoided answering and instead deflecting his response to falsely accuse Donald Trump of sending Hillary Clinton four campaign contributions in 2008.

Senator Cruz never answered the question.

So why doesn’t Senator Jeff Sessions support Ted Cruz? The answer is within this video:

You have put your finger on exactly why so many conservatives do not trust or believe Cruz. Namely, the fact that he talks about walls and border security ***when he’s running for office***, and then goes silent on the issue as soon as he’s elected.

This is the absolute truth. In 2011 Cruz was running for the Senate. That is why you found the border security quote from that time frame.

Next Cruz goes to DC and we hear no more about the wall. Fact.

Cruz announces presidential run. No mention of lost sovereignty, no mention of wall.

Trump gets in and hammers the wall and our lost sovereignty.

***Eventually*** Cruz chimes in.

Can you see why people who prioritize sovereignty simply do not trust him? Personally, I put the odds of getting a wall in a Cruz presidency at zero. If you think otherwise, then please explain why Senator Cruz clammed up on the subject until many mos after Trump started thrashing it.

Rubio is the liberal candidate of the contest...If his supporters go to Cruz instead of Trump you'll know Cruz is the more liberal of the two...

LOL, the gyrations Trump folks must go through to keep the delusion live. Amazing.

Hint:
for the last decade, Trump has been openly socially liberal...
for the last decade, and Cruz has assembled a coalition of 31 states in defense of the principle that the 2nd Amendment guarantees an individual right to keep and bear arms, Defended the Ten Commandments monument on the Texas State Capitol grounds, Defended the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools, Defended the State of Texas against an attempt by the International Court of Justice to re-open the criminal convictions of 51 murderers on death row throughout the United States, was Domestic Policy Advisor to U.S. President George W. Bush on the 2000 Bush-Cheney campaign, Endorsed by The Tea Party and the Republican Liberty Caucus, won the Iowa Caucus while promising to END corn subsidies, and sponsored 97 bills, including:
ObamaCare Repeal Act
Prohibit use of drones from killing citizens of the United States within the United States
Disarm Criminals and Protect Communities Act
Firearm Straw Purchasing and Trafficking Prevention Act
Defund Obamacare Act of 2013
A bill to amend the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to permit States to require proof of citizenship for registration to vote in elections for Federal office
A bill to designate the United States courthouse located at 101 East Pecan Street in Sherman, Texas, as the Paul Brown United States Courthouse
A bill to require the Secretary of State to offer rewards of up to $5,000,000 for information regarding the attacks on the United States diplomatic mission at Benghazi, Libya that began on September 11, 2012
State Marriage Defense Act of 2014
A bill to amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit the intentional discrimination of a person or organization by an employee of the Internal Revenue Service
A bill to prohibit the Department of the Treasury from assigning tax statuses to organizations based on their political beliefs and activities American Energy Renaissance Act of 2014
A bill to deny admission to the United States to any representative to the United Nations who has been found to have been engaged in espionage activities or a terrorist activity against the United States and poses a threat to United States national security interests
SuperPAC Elimination Act of 2014
Free All Speech Act of 2014
Guantanamo Bay Detainee Transfer Suspension Act of 2014
A bill to require the Secretary of State to offer rewards totaling up to $5,000,000 for information on the kidnapping and murder of Naftali Fraenkel, a dual United States-Israeli citizen, that began on June 12, 2014
A bill to prevent the expansion of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program unlawfully created by Executive memorandum on August 15, 2012
Sanction Iran, Safeguard America Act of 2014
Expatriate Terrorists Act
Operation United Assistance Tax Exclusion Act of 2014

But do go on fooling yourself, LOL. Trump SAYS he is now magically Conservative (while every position can be negotiated), and Cruz has walked the talk for 18 years... so Trump is less Liberal. LOLOLOL!!!!!

Yet another misinformed Trump supporter

May 9, 2013... http://trailblazersblog.dallasnews.com/2013/05/sen-ted-cruzs-border-security-amendment-to-immigration-legislation-voted-down.html/

A Senate committee rejected an immigration-legislation amendment offered by Sen. Ted Cruz today that would have added significant security resources along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Pray tell, what office was he running for in 2013?

Haha. You’re talking about the so-called ‘poison pill,’ correct? So you admit it wasn’t any such thing?

I don’t know what you mean by the label, or by me “admitting” anything. You made an assertion, and a 2-second web search proved you wrong. Deal with it.

You’re a laugh riot! I thought I was supposed to be the “uninformed” one?

You quoted from Cruz’ so-called ‘poison pill’ amendment. He ***claims*** [at least since legalization blew up in his face] that he didn’t want that amendment to become law. Rather, he CLAIMS the purpose of the amendment was to kill the bill.

Do you believe Cruz was lying??? Because if he wasn’t, then he never wanted those border security measures to become law.

Are you getting this? For being the “uninformed” party, I sure have to do a lot of explaining for you. It would help if you at least knew Cruz’ legendary tale of the ‘poison pill.’

It would help if you at least knew Cruz’ legendary tale of the ‘poison pill.

You claimed he did nothing on border security except during election runs. He clearly did. Spin it all you want, you were still wrong... and since you knew about this "legendary" event, I guess that even makes you a liar.

If you believe Cruz was bald faced lying about this amendment being a poison pull, then you are right. If you believe Cruz was telling the truth, then I am right.

A or B, no C.

Btw, if you concede that Cruz straight up lied to our faces when he called this amendment a poison pill, I will grant that he actually tried to enhance border security. If, however, you believe Cruz told the truth about the amendment being a poison pill, then you owe me mega apologies.

Let’s see how honest you are.

I repeat... You claimed he did nothing on border security except during election runs. He clearly did in May 2013, and you admit that he did, no matter whether you like what he did or not. You are wrong. A, no B.

Are you even reading my posts? Cruz said, REPEATEDLY, that the amendment you cited was NEVER meant to be enacted/become law. If you believe him, then he did squat on border security. If you’re calling him a liar, then you’re right about border security. But for that to be the case, you HAVE to concede Cruz is a world class liar.

This is not rocket science. If you genuinely can’t understand it, you’re dense. If you can grasp it perfectly well but you’re pretending you can’t, you’re dishonest.

Btw, in this same ‘poison pill’ amendment you make so much of, Cruz powerfully advocates for legalizing EVERY SINGLE FOREIGN INVADER/ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT in the US. He says, using these words, that his amendment brings them “out of the shadows.”

So just bear in mind that every time you cite this amendment, you are saying you believe Cruz wants MASS LEGALIZATION of EVERY SINGLE ILLEGAL.

Iow, if he was being honest at the time, he was willing to throw a sop at border security in exchange for mass legalization. If he was being honest later, he didn’t want border security OR mass legalization.

Oh what a tangled web we weave...

Here is Cruz in his own words talking about his amendment. The bill he is pushing so hard to become law is none other than the Gang of Eight:

“If this amendment is adopted to the current bill, the effect would be that those 11 million under this current bill would still be eligible for RPI status. They would still be eligible for legal status and indeed, under the terms of the bill, they would be eligible for LPR status as well so that they are out of the shadows, which the proponents of this bill repeatedly point to as their principal objective to provide a legal status for those who are here illegally to be out of the shadows. ... I don’t want immigration reform to fail. I want immigration reform to pass. And so I would urge people of good faith on both sides of the aisle, if the objective is to pass common sense immigration reform that secures the borders, that improves legal immigration, and that allows those who are here illegally to come in out of the shadows. Then we should look for areas of bipartisan agreement and compromise to come together. And this amendment, I believe, if this amendment were to pass, the chances of this bill passing into law would increase dramatically.”

No, you’re the liar who wrote that he says and does nothing on border security unless he is running for office. No matter what your spin is, in MAY ‘13, he did something on border security, by writing an amendment to a bill. Hence, you were wrong. Very simple. Cry somewhere else, liar with an apt name.

You have no earthly idea what you’re saying. You are calling Cruz a pathological liar over his poison pill meme. You claim his lies extend to his insistence that he never supported legalization. You’re calling him a bare faced liar re deportation. The list goes on.

Look, he’s your candidate. If you want to insist he backed the Gang of Eight bill to the hilt, that’s your call. Just know that you are branding Cruz a serial liar. If that’s how you see him, so be it.

You can’t be this dense. If you were, you wouldn’t even know how to turn on a computer.

As acts go, it’s incredibly dishonest.

If Cruz, as he INSISTS, never had any intention of voting for the legislation, then how was he advancing border security?

‘Normally senators introduce amendments to improve bills and subsequently vote for them. Yet Cruz insists he never had any intention of voting for the legislation. He is now labeling his amendment to block citizenship for 12 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. a “poison pill” that would have nullified the plans of the bill’s sponsors, including Rubio, to retroactively legalize millions of residents.’
