Absolutely true, and just another area where Ted shows his ignorance of business and taxation. As long as there is taxable income to be determined and taxes to be submitted to the federal government, there will be a federal tax collection agency.
Ted will not be abolishing the IRS.
I agree. As long as businesses are in business, there will be a tax agency scrutinizing every number on every line.
Individual taxes can only be reduced to a postcard if there are no life events - buying/selling a home; investments; etc.
Cruz has never lived in the real world. We’re not sure who his Dad paid taxes to but Cruz probably didn’t learn much about meeting April 15 deadlines.
It will never be abolished because there’s too much money on the table: lawyers, tax accountants, CIO’s. And then there is the question of $160 trillion in debt that will have to be wrung out of us.
There has always been an office of the treasury department to collect taxes. But an IRS? This huge thing that we have now? That is what he hopes will go away.
No one will abolish the IRS.
Using the tax code to reward/punish is basic to government. The best we can hope for is removing the outrageous politicalization that the white hut practices.
How the heck would one collect the money to support our military without some agency like the IRS. For those who like the flat tax or fair tax, you would still need some kind of collection agency. For example what is the difference between God and Allah? OK, great, now lets change the name of the IRS and we will all like it better???
