Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, a former Air Force pilot who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, said on Thursday that Donald Trump is openly advocating war crimes that would cause the soldiers who obeyed his orders to be jailed.
If youre a private in the field and your major or your colonel orders you to do something that is a war crime, you actually bear responsibility, you cant say that the colonel made me do it, said Kinzinger, who is supporting Marco Rubio. What Donald Trump, as wanting to be president of the United States is advocating, is a war crime that would force every soldier that did, i.e. killed the relatives of terrorists, tortured regardless of whether it not it works, the things that hes advocating would force all of these people in jail.
Speaking on the Steve Cochran Show on Chicago radio, Kinzinger argued that Trump was either all bluster or comparable to Italian fascist dictator Benito Mussolini.
Now, you have to do one of two things, he said. You either believe that Donald trump is all bluster which most people do but for some reason they like that, or you take him at his word in which case he is advocating, like what Benito Mussolini did, war crimes.
Kinzinger also said that what Trump was calling for makes me sick.
For the leading Republican presidential candidate to advocate war crimes, which he does openly, just advocates war crimes, doesnt matter, makes me sick really, he said. Especially as somebody thats defended the country. Its just terrible.
Later in the interview, Kinzinger said, I cant see myself supporting Donald Trump. I never say definitively because who knows in the future. But I have no intention of supporting Donald Trump.
As for his preferred candidate, Rubio, Kinzinger said he felt pretty good about the Florida senators chances of winning his home states primary, but that Id definitely rather be in Trumps position politically.
What did trump SAY?
Too much to ask, I guess
“So, if families help, then families can be targeted.”
But that’s not what he said. He said he’d target and kill their families. Period. He didn’t say all that other stuff.
“Combat Vet”, huh? Sorry - unless you’re down in the dirt fighting face to face, you’re not a “combat vet”. Everybody else are just working in a war zone.
A bigger RINO than Trump? In this case, the former pilot is correct. Why not try to attack his position on the merits?
There are ways around it, if the terrorists are being aided and abetted by their families, are they not culpable too?

I love to know if ISIS signed the any international agreement with United States governing how we should deal with each other prisoners
You last sentence completely encapsulates the entire point being made!!! Don’t think it hasn’t already been done however like Trump does all the time is make blanket statements....
And the other thing is with the terrorists, you have to take out their families. When you get these terrorists, you have to take out their families. They care about their lives. Dont kid yourself. But they say they dont care about them. You have to take out their families,
Many of said terrorists have kids have wives and roam off for years never returning home. While some do aid many do not. So the actions of said terrorists who have no knowledge of their day to day operations is somehow culpable and should be targeted for execution? The blanket statement above can encapsulate that interpretation
Good luck with characterizing everyone in the The Greatest Generation who served in the Army Air Corp in Europe as War Criminals.
Will you be holding the trials in Nuremberg?
Yes he did. He clearly told the story of family participants with 9/11.
It’s the 2nd time he’s done it. We can go to the tape if you don’t remember it from last night.
So what other laws are you ok with the President ignoring?
Is it only aginst Muslims or perhaps against Jews too? Maybe those catholics might get a turn.
Many of you may not be old enough to remember the My Lai Massacre that occurred during Vietnam War (the 1960’s).
However, Donald was an adult when the My Lai Massacre occurred.
So, Donald now would make the immplementation of a My Lai Massacre policy his modus operandi?
I did not hear anything Donald Trump said last night that could be called advocating a “war crime”. This guy should look into what American soldiers did to captured Japanese during WWII. These people are more concerned with being “nice” to the enemy than with winning. And he seems to also forget that we are fighting enemy combatants - TERRORISTS, who rape children, behead men, women and children, crucify civilians, and commit every atrocity imaginable! These ISIS fighters are not the uniformed soldiers of a legitimate national military. They are not fighting by the rules of the Geneva Convention! I do not think this idiot is in touch with reality. But, since he’s “air force” - well, that figures. Those guys are never down in the mud getting their hands dirty - they kill from 30,000 feet up, where they can feel like they are pure and clean as the air around them. I wonder what this guy would have to say about the fire bombing of Dresden Germany, or Tokyo Japan, or Hiroshima or Nagasaki? We lose wars because of these types of “men.”
Is that uncle Fester on the right?
This kind of stuff belongs at DU, not here. Give it a rest.
Great Post!
Bull - Obama has killed plenty of terrorists and the family members riding along in their cars or sleeping in their homes when bombed. Israel punishes the family members of terrorists (does not kill them though).
He gave an example of what he meant, and that was COMPLICIT families.
So, if a deceased terrorist had strapped a bomb to your child, and the wife of the terrorist didn’t participate but knew the code to stop the bomb, would you waterboard her?
Right. So let’s just send US soldiers into these homes and have them kill em all. Armed or not. Of course it’s not a President Trump that would be punished for it.
Meanwhile Trump has hundreds of millions of dollars invested with Muslims in Muslim countries.
