I guess he figures he’s organized Chicago well enough, or he’s afraid of all the lead flying around.
this is SO like him. Such a narcissist. Convinced everyone will want him to hang around. His mere presence comforts people. I truly believe he feels this way. I also truly believe he is staying to still act like he is in charge. His “holier than thou” stench has permeated every cell. He and his wife will still expect (and probably often receive) the POTUS treatment wherever they go.
I guess Tony Rezko can have his yard back now.

When a president leaves office, traditionally, they retire to private life, stay in the background, and do not comment publicly on their successor’s policies or initiatives. You know that won’t be the case with Obama. He can’t stand the thought of not being the center of attention, so he’ll be sticking his face in front of the cameras every chance he gets to criticize the next administration.
While I agree with you entirely, I also think Obama is due for a letdown.
1) The press are biased but they are sycophants first and foremost, attracted to power. Without the plane and the pulpit his stature drops precipitously, mostly because he was a nobody before his election.
2) Eight years of the whiny, preachy, petulant, ineffective Obama has them weary too. A new president from either party will be a welcome change.
3) They can’t work on their revisionist history when he’s hanging around like a bad smell reminding all of his failures.
4) If it’s a Democrat, God help us, the press will pretend there is a difference between two leftist zombies by avoiding mention of the old.
His home will be Leavenworth if all goes according to plan.
I wonder if he will regularly “vacation” in Dubai for years at a time.
I hope all the K Street lobbyists can get used to dealing with a Secret Service detail screwing up traffic every day...your guy will be close by!

Having to commute from HI for hearings, depositions, arraignments, would not be practical.
Not on his own dime. Practical if the taxpayers pay though.
