A top aide to White House hopeful Donald Trump on Thursday thanked Mitt Romney after the 2012 Republican presidential nominee blasted the current GOP front-runner.
Dan Scavino, a senior Trump adviser, tweeted that the former Massachusetts governor had delivered "an incredible endorsement" for Trump.
Many political observers say Romney's address could play into Trump's hand, given Romney's status in the GOP establishment and Trump's campaign as a political outsider.

Youre reading words written by the stupidest person on the face of the earth...me. I was so stupid that I actually once sent money to the Republican Party AND tried to get an idiot named Romney elected to President. Ill never make that mistake again! You beat me to it, so just add my signature to what you wrote.

I have to say that this is crossing my mind as well. This protect the party stuff really has soured me. What a bunch of bs to keep the sheep thinking they are in any way connected to the government. I really am furious with the lot of them. Politicians be hanged.

You all have to check out romney’s Facebook page. What's remarkable is the fact that not only are the comments running 99% against mittens but that there are close to 20,000 of them in the last HOUR!

I voted for romney in 2012 and talked my wife into doing the same.
People here talk about how we will regret our votes for Trump.
I now regret my vote and my wife’s vote for romney, in fact I’m ashamed now for it!-(
I understand Cruz and the RUBE going after Trump and it’s OK with me, a Trump supporter.
But Ryan, romney, mccain... I’m Jewish but I say “JESUS SAVE us and the US”!-)

Besides this having no effect on the primary, this was a real back stabbing move by Romney against a guy who supported and endorsed him in 2012.
I think is is one area we all here agree on
