The GOP frontrunner appears to have mixed up income and revenue.
On two occasions, this writer has spent weeks striving to demystify the Vaticans finances. Now Im attempting to solve the riddle of Donald Trumps income and net worth. Pope Francis, who recently exchanged barbs with Trump over immigration, has bravely promised to open the Vaticans books. Trump sounds less righteous in claiming that he wont publicly release his tax returns while hes being audited by the IRS, but does pledge to eventually make the highly anticipated filings public.
Until then, voters can glean a great deal of information from two sets of documents the Trump campaign has already provided: A balance sheet released in June, when Trump declared his candidacy for President, and a 92-page Personal Financial Disclosure (PFD) form submitted to the Federal Election Commission a month later.
Neither document is as telling as a tax return would be. But when closely read together, you can learn a great deal about Trumps financial affairs. Heres the most concerning thing I learned: Trump appears to have overstated his income, by a lot, which could be the reason he has so far tried to avoid releasing his returns.
In July, Trumps campaign in the press release that accompanied the financial filing stated that the candidate made $362 million in 2014. In fact, a close reading of the two documents, especially the PFD, shows that number is actually Trumps revenues, and not his income, which should be after salaries, IT costs, interest and all other expenses. Indeed, the filing specifically labels these items under such headings as revenue, sales, royalties, commissions and other categoriesclearly designating them as gross receipts rather than taxable income.

What convinced me is that is wife is way better looking than me and SHE IS YOUNGER. How can anyone vote for that guy.
My guess is the corrupt IRS gave the info to the GOPe and Romney because they work for the benefit of liberals.
If Romney has this information illegally, he should be prosecuted.
So much concern about about speculations. So little concern about voters.
How many foreign born ITs have you hired or do you recruit them for other companies?
Most Trump haters like you probably depend on illegals or foreign workers.
The Gope will spend a billion dollars to destroy Trump. It’s doing nothing but digging a deeper graves for themselves. To think I held my nose and voted for M cCain and then that piece of shit Romney on tv right now!
RE: How many foreign born ITs have you hired or do you recruit them for other companies?
I am an IT consultant who work for myself. Why is that relevant to this thread?
Surely all of that is paid for out of corporate accounts and not his personal accounts. Why would he want the headache and personal liability for hiring folks individually.
Like A tax return reflects all his assets and their value!!!...wonder how much property and sales taxes he pays?
Trump’s wealth makes difference to me. Not one bit.
There is only one 1040
There innumerable 1120’s

a tax return unless you have a stocks will show you nothing
The Donald is an alpha male ... and that scares the pink panties off of rinos.
RE: Most Trump haters like you probably depend on illegals or foreign workers.
I am NOT a Trump hater. He is NOT my first choice. I’ll vote for him over Hillary/Sanders anytime.
But hey, he is NOT sacred. All potential flaws should be discussed. The price of liberty is always VIGILANCE.
If you worship him, that is your prerogative. I won;t tell you what or what not to like.
A Tax return does NOT show your wealth!!! How STUPID do they think we are??

Precisely. If you disagree with the article, TELL US WHY.
Unfortunately, there are Trump fans who find it better to attack someone who posts the article and go personal.
See Post #25 above as one example.
I was so shocked when I heard this that I IMMEDIATELY switched my vote.
Well, Shawn Tully, when you can tell your readers where YOU park your 747 with your name on the side of it, you can criticize Trump’s wealth.
I posted in another thread that Romney’s speech is sour grapes — wealth envy.
