TRUMP POSITION PAPER: HEALTHCARE REFORM TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN
Donald J. Trump for President ^ | 3/2/16 | Donald Trump

Posted on 03/03/2016 7:07:48 AM PST by Jim W N

On day one of the Trump Administration, we will ask Congress to immediately deliver a full repeal of Obamacare. We will work with Congress to make sure we have a series of reforms ready for implementation that follow free market principles and that will restore economic freedom and certainty to everyone in this country. Congress must act. Our elected representatives in the House and Senate must:

1. Completely repeal Obamacare.

2. Modify existing law that inhibits the sale of health insurance across state lines.

3. Allow individuals to fully deduct health insurance premium payments from their tax returns under the current tax system.

4. Allow individuals to use Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).

5. Require price transparency from all healthcare providers, especially doctors and healthcare organizations like clinics and hospitals.

6. Block-grant Medicaid to the states. The state governments know their people best and can manage the administration of Medicaid far better without federal overhead.

7. Remove barriers to entry into free markets for drug providers that offer safe, reliable and cheaper products. Congress will need the courage to step away from the special interests and do what is right for America.

Having released this broad outline just before the debate, you’d better believe that the moderators are going to ask for specifics in the debate tonight, and he’d better have better answers than he did in the last debate.

“So will Cruz and his fast and loss handling of the truth.”

No. He was out yesterday still saying Trump supports obamacare. Expect him to add a “B-b-bb-but until recently” in front of it now.

It certainly wasn’t clear to many that Trump was going to wrench healthcare out of the feds hands and give it back to the states and the people via the free market. This is a really big deal.

Many have stopped taking on new patients with Medicaid.

Our local Medical Center even stopped taking Blue Cross Blue Shield Obozocare silver and bronze plans!.................

“This is basically the same as Ted Cruz’s plan. It’s good but without tort reform, the doctor shortage will continue.”

Precisely.

You guys are doing to the word 'liar' what leftists have done to the word 'racist'.

"Cruztards" are basing their criticisms on Trumps own past words.

This plan looks good and I'm happy to see Trump has come around.

Ditto - how ‘bout we talk about issues and leave the ad hominem to the Democrats?

6. Block-grant Medicaid to the states. The state governments know their people best and can manage the administration of Medicaid far better without federal overhead.

This is brilliant. Not only does it take health care out of the hands of the Federal government but it would also change Medicaid from an entitlement to a regular appropriation. In time, hopefully, the block grants to the states could then be gradually reduced, transferring to whole question to the states where it should be under the Constitution.

Yes, of course some/many have stopped taking it. But many have not. I’m shocked to hear about silver Blue Cross Blue Shield, though.

One of the problems with any of these plans is that doctors drop out of one plan and drop into another in the wink of an eye. We have a silver plan (we may have to up it to gold) and my husband made an appt. only to have it canceled the next week because the doc dropped out. Infuriating.

Thanks a lot you a**hole sitting in the WH!

You got it in writing now

A written document is much harder to waffle on

Let’s compare it point by point to Ted’s written plan
The one he’s had 4 years in the Senate to move forward on
Let’s assemble Ted’s whole team to go,over Ted’s plan

This doesn't matter, once CRuz is finished race-baiting Trump he will continue to say that Trump supports single payer. When has the truth meant anything to Cruz.

Incidentally, this is the position that Trump has championed all along. That never stopped Cruz from mocking him when Trump said that he didn't want people, "dying in the streets."

OK, OK, I’ll have to cry “Uncle” now. I swore I wasn’t going to watch another one of these media circus events they call “debates”, but after this, I’ve just gotta. I want to see these yahoos deal with what Trump has laid out here and their lies and misrepresentations they have heretofore put out there about Trump expanding federal government control of healthcare and socialized medicine.

Somebody’s gonna be eating crow.

Still don’t know if I’m going to be able to hack Kelly and Wallace.

Most people thought he was cool with Obamacare and single-payer, but this goes to show how wrong they were.

OK. This reads pretty much like what conservative think tanks have been advocating for a couple of decades.

Maybe the Donald has started coordinating with them?
