Marco Rubio's supporters protest appearance by the GOP front-runner, who has donated more than $100,000 to the event's host.
Donald Trumps speaking slot at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturdayis prompting an acrimonious backlash from the conservative critics desperately trying to mount a last-ditch campaign to block the GOP presidential front-runner from winning the partys nomination.
A top aide to Trump rival Marco Rubio has accused CPAC organizers of being in the tank for Trump and clearing the way for his acceptance into mainstream conservatism, while an anti-Trump super PAC is pressuring organizers to rescind their invitation to the surging GOP front-runner.
Potentially complicating matters further, sources tell POLITICO that Trump has made multiple donations totaling more than $100,000 ― including a $50,000 check last year ― to the American Conservative Union, the group that organizes CPAC.

Trump gave $100 thousand to CPAC?
That must be a lie, he only gives to Democrats, surely the Cruzers wouldn’t lie to us about that , would they?
The party leadership doesn’t want Trump, but they don’t want us to choose an alternative either. They are trying to force us to take their pick among the also-ran candidates. They gave up on Jeb, on Christie, and will soon give up on Rubio.
If they wanted to stop Trump, they could have done it with Cruz months ago. Today? I suspect it’s too late, which is a shame since he’s my first choice candidate. This may be one of those rare political events - an election that is decided by the voters over the objections of the party leadership. That’s the difference between the GOP and the DNC. As much as I despise our leaders, at least their vote fraud apparatus is not as pervasive as the DNC fraud machine.
I’m at CPAC now. The original schedule had Trump speaking Friday morning right after Mark Levin. I’m a Cruz fan, I’m here to vote in the Straw Poll for Cruz, and even I thought that was a set up.
Current schedule for candidates to speak:
Ted Cruz - Friday 4:10
Ben Carson - Friday 4:45
Donald Trump - Sat 8:10 am
Marco Rubio - Sat 11:35am
I don’t know how that’s unfair to Marco.
Yes indeed. Trump is smoking out ALL of the phony two-faced hypocrisy of the so called “movement conservatives”.
Thank you for your national service, Mr. Trump.
Yes, I would. I’ve run for office before. You always want to speak last. That way you can respond to anything your opponent says and you can say things your opponents don’t get official time to respond back.
Little Marco has the best speaking spot, last.
So.
I don’t know why he’s moaning about it.
Amen!
Scott Walker is speaking now. Amazing the difference a year will make.
Someone needs a “safe space”.
I hope the Trump supporters brawl with the bullies planning to protest Trump’s attendance if they try and interrupt Trump’s speech or activism at CPAC.
How has RUBIO contributed?
Seems that the GROUPIES are afraid that the truth comes out. Lies cannot be exposed to tte light if everyone is kept in the dark
Can’t they see the irony?
How often do conservatives criticize colleges and Librtards who want to shut down any speech of views they disagree with?
