Even as major Republican donors coalesced Wednesday around a last-ditch effort to halt Donald Trump's march toward the GOP presidential nomination, resignation was setting in among some onetime Trump critics.
"It is too late," Republican media strategist Alex Castellanos, who had unsuccessfully urged top GOP contributors to back an anti-Trump campaign earlier in the cycle, wrote in an email. He went on:
"If our self-indulgent Republican party establishment had really wanted to prevent a takeover of the GOP, they should not have gorged on political power while they failed to do anything to prevent the decline of the country. Our leaders could have led. They could have done more than say 'no' to Democrats while offering no alternative."
"They should have stood up for the change Donald Trump is bringing now but they didn't."
Now, Trump has earned the nomination. He won it, fair and square and we should respect that. Donald Trump whipped the establishment and it is too late for the limp GOP establishment to ask their mommy to step in and rewrite the rules because they were humiliated for their impotence.
"If Trump is going to be our nominee, as I believe he is, it is our mission to support Trump and make him the best nominee and president possible."

That’s a pretty big phrase for a little boy! Well done!

Well, well see. Tomorrow will probably tell the tale. If Trump eventually turns out to be our nominee, my position could then very well be: all those who would rather let Hillary take the presidency should probably post elsewhere. Not silencing them, but they can post their diatribes on some other forum. RedState would probably be happy to take them on.
I am getting pretty sick of the same couple dozen people continuously posting their anti-Trump bilgewater 24/7 every damned day and stirring up endless flamewars.
This will end. That I promise you.

And I believe if you were a true conservative you would not support someone who enabled the Iran nuclear deall. someone who made an agreement with McConnell not to support conservative candidates opposing Rinos for permission to run for president, and someone who sold out American workers with the TPA authority. Those are just the significant starters. Those actions affected citizens directly. What has Trump done to suppress citizens in the same manner?
When he’s POTUS he’ll have more time to exercise and eat better, avoiding those unhealthy campaign circuit meals.
He’s a mess!
I can respect someone deciding they cant vote for Trump on principle.
But if he wins this fair and square, I cannot respect someone supporting slimeball knee-in-the-groin tactics to try and take it away from him.

Respect neither.
It’s not your vote is it?
Who cares, I don’t plan to vote for her either.
Specious talking points, one and all.
Right back at cha!
I want you to vote somewhere. I care. You’re given this great chance in this great country to pick. I almost went constitution party last election. I changed the last 2 weeks because Benghazi was new, I was extremely angry that those brave men were left to die, and then they lied. I couldn’t imagine Romney being worse than that.
But I wasn’t going to not vote. I considered that an abdication of responsibility.
Dont give up your vote.
Please correct me if I’m wrong, but from my readings it is a majority of the delegates in 8 states, not a majority of the total votes. That would put Cruz at 1 and Trump at about 6 or 7. (Vermont looks like it was a tie in delegates for Trump and Kasich, not sure how they count that)
Norquist is married to a Muslim and very involved in Islamic Free Market Institute. He wants all those Muslims sent here!
I appreciate your concern but I now truely believe that a misguided vote is worse than no vote at all.
I will not be complicit in putting a man in the White House that holds the numerous liberal positions held by Mr. Trump.
One other thing, I just don’t trust the man.
“Right back at cha!”
Being that I have not posted to you, I have no idea what you’re talking about.
That’s because I’m 5 steps ahead of you. Try to figure it out. Go back and review. Think hard. You can do it!
I don’t trust you.
It is FAR too early for anyone to be calling for everyone to rally behind Trump. Let’s see where we are after March 15th.
I didn’t say for you to vote for trump. I said to find SOMEONE to vote for against Clinton. Some other party. Whatever. Just don’t let that vote go unused.
Go crawl back under your rock. This is a discussion between adults.
