There have been four closed elections: the Iowa caucus, the Nevada caucus, and Super Tuesdays Oklahoma primary and Alaska caucus. Ted Cruz won three of those four closed elections.
So heres where it potentially gets interesting. Although the media are looking forward to March 15, this Saturday (March 5) there are four Republican primaries/caucuses: Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana and Maine. All are closed.

Death far outweighs life in any such facility.
Evidently not for the gop. gop keeps promising the same thing, and they haven’t moved the ball a single inch. Honestly, how do you keep believing they are going to do something about PP, they just funded it! How about if we try a different approach to getting it defunded than just mocking PP and yelling.
Where ever Rick Sanatorium has become a joke.
Nice control by the Party establishment. /s
Really? Was this “walking the walk”?

WASHINGTON, DC U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) today presented an amendment to the Gang of Eight immigration bill that would improve our nations legal immigration system by increasing high-skilled temporary worker visas, called H-1B visas, by 500 percent. The measure would effectively address the needs of our nations high-skilled workforce by helping meet the growing demand for workers in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. It will also make block grants available to states to promote STEM education efforts and increase domestic STEM professionals. The committee voted against the amendment 4 to 14 with every Democrat voting against it on a party-line vote.
I strongly support legal immigration. Legal immigration is a fundamental pillar of our nation’s heritage, and I was pleased today to offer legislation that would have improved and expanded legal immigration by dramatically increasing the cap for high-tech temporary worker visas. This amendment would not only improve the current system, but would also encourage economic growth and create new jobs in America. There is currently a serious shortage of workers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math, yet every year we send thousands of high-tech graduate students back to their home countries to start businesses and create jobs. This makes no sense. Im disappointed in the committees vote to reject expanding high-tech immigration. Although the Gang of Eight’s bill makes a modest step towards improving high-tech immigration, it does not go nearly far enough. There is no reason to arbitrarily cap high-tech visas at 110,000 when these jobs are going unfilled. We need economic growth here and now.
Sen. Cruzs amendment would:
Immediately increase the H-1B cap by 500 percent from 65,000 to 325,000.
To truly fix our broken immigration system and take into account our nations economic needs, we must put more emphasis on increasing employment-based immigration. There is a current shortage of qualified high-skilled workers in the U.S., with an estimated 230,000 advanced-degree STEM jobs going unfilled by 2018.
Additionally, more H-1B workers mean more jobs for American workers according to a study by the American Enterprise Institute, for every additional 100 H-1B workers, 183 jobs are created for U.S. citizens.
Help retain the high-skilled workers that are trained in the U.S. by allowing dual intent.
This would allow foreign students at U.S. colleges and universities to enter the U.S. on a temporary H-1B visa if they intend to get a Green Card once they complete their studies.
Currently, about 300,000 students come to America annually to be educated, but are required to return home upon completing their education.
Create block grants for states to promote STEM education in their public schools by raising H-1B fees.
These block grants will encourage educating our children in these high demand fields, opening more doors of opportunity to future generations. According to the Joint Economic Committee, between 2010 and 2020, demand for STEM graduates is expected to grow by 17 percent, while employment for those graduates will increase only 14 percent, partly because American graduates are not available or qualified to fill these jobs.
The block grant program would be funded by raising H-1B fees from $750 to $1,250 for businesses with fewer than 25 employees, and from $1,500 to $2,500 for those with 25 or more employees.
No matter who we vote for, the same principle of conscience applies. In fact, when I vote, the words "so help me God" will be on my lips. Take a stand with your vote! I'm standing with Cruz. FReegards.
Yep. Whereas in Montana, where I am originally from, you register to vote, but you don’t register by party affiliation. So, if you’re independent, you can vote for whoever you damn well please.
>> mmmhmmm. Liberal issues like a wall and immigration under control. <<
Nope, read the comments again. "wall and immigration under control" are examples of the most recent positions he's been taking.
"way more liberal" are examples of the positions he took BEFORE he started floating the idea of running for President.
“conscience” doesn’t override the big picture. It tends to stupefy the user.
Who dumb is it to vote for Cruz in the general if he isn’t on the ballot and you do a write in?? Letting Hillary take the office defeats the purpose of what you claim you “conscience” is trying to prevent: An evil person in office.
Sorry, ain’t buying your bullshit argument, troll.
No , not heard anyone changing here, but nearly everyone here is republican. I did hear in MA where my mother in law is that she changed over as she likes Trump and so has some workers I used to work with up there.
exactly
Immigration control for Trump is called hiring illegal immigrant construction workers to do jobs Americans don’t want to do, like carpentry and electrical at minimum wage.
Actually straight to the south in my county St JOhns it is as up to today

Democrats: 39,078

Cruz outed himself as a backer of the establishment.
Cruz has no chance to win the general election. Zero enthusiasm outside of conservatives, and is in fact despised by the left and many independents for several reasons. He will be beaten to a bloody pulp over and over again for the shutdown alone, and that baggage isn't even necessary to beat him as he just doesn't have the enthusiasm factor outside of diehard conservatives.
You and anyone who believes what you suggest, are only deluding yourselves.
I liked Mr. Cruz, and he was my first choice until he outed himself over the last few weeks. No more.
It really doesn't matter as the only one who can beat Clinton in the General is Mr. Trump. You can take that to the bank.
Iowa is in the south ?
Same
Ted was my number one , but after seeing what I have seen and knowing he has not a chance in hell of beating Hillary then I ma leaning more and more to Trump who actually can win, who has won, who generates interest from none party voters. \ted does not generate any interest except form his hard core voters and that is a massive problem.
He can’t even win a county in some southern states, can’t win a swing state, and can’t generate interest who will be booted to hell and back off Hillary for being a one issue candidate, i.e. religion.
With that crystal ball of yours, you must be filthy rich from lotto and stock picks. Pretty amazing, really.
(Simple fact: there are not enough pure conservative votes to win the election.)
That’s called a strawman argument. In the primaries, you try to solidify your base by promising them what you’re going to do for them. The time to attract non-pure conservative votes is during the general election, after having given the base confidence that you’re not going to turn around and stab them in the back once elected. Trump on the other hand has not won over conservatives, and on his side, doesn’t owe them anything. So he could easily in the general “cut a deal” to attract everybody else, and you end up in the general election with the choice of 2 politicians with liberal platforms. And conservatives will stay home just like in the last 2 presidential elections due to the idiocy of McCain and Romney. You don’t think that’s plausible?
Oh. Sure gotcha. Trump’s dem crossovers are drawn by antique positions he’s changed or clarified since entering the race. Like defunding PP abortion. That’s a sure Democrat draw right there. /s
