Lindsey Graham: Oh God, We Might Have To Back Ted Cruz To Save Our Party

WASHINGTON -- Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Tuesday night that Republicans may have to hold their noses and unify behind Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) for president if they want to save their party from Donald Trump.

"Ted Cruz is not my favorite by any means," Graham said in a CBS interview. "But we may be in a position where we have to rally around Ted Cruz as the only way to stop Donald Trump."

Graham, who not too long ago was running against Cruz and Trump for the GOP presidential nomination, said it's still a long shot that Cruz could beat Trump. And the Texas senator isn't exactly the most likable Republican in town.

"Short of a major scandal, probably not," said Graham of Cruz' chances. "And if Marco [Rubio] doesn't win Florida, I don't know how he goes forward."

But Cruz has one thing going for him: He's the only candidate who's picked up multiple wins in state primaries besides Trump. As of late Tuesday, Trump had won a total of nine primaries and Cruz had won three. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), the next runner-up in the polls, just won his first state, Minnesota.

I believe that Jeb! was the chosen one to take one for the GOPe so that the beast would win. Now that he is out, Rubio is the next fall guy. They were not counting on Trump. It is ruining the uniparties plans.

Oh, goody. He’s going to throw his .01% support behind Cruz. That should do it.

Have you read the things said by Cruz supporters about those of us who support Trump? Either you haven’t or you agree. We have been told we are not conservative because only Cruz supporters define conservative. We have been told we are low mentality. We have even been told we are not Christians and I thought God determined that.

The insults have flowed both ways. Neither is a good thing and neither side is truthful to say they only did it in response to the other. I think a lot of paid rabble rousers got the poo slinging started. At least I hope we don’t hate each other that much because the Dems sure do.

I know I don’t hate you even when we disagree. We are Americans hoping that our choose is best.

Ask someone that loves you to read the posts about Donald to you. I do not love you and have neither the time or desire to point them out to you. Go have a nice day.

Mitt Romney’s Top rated Strategist Says Hillary Clinton WILL BE A Better President Than Donald Trump

The Republican Party’s top strategist in the 2012 election would rather see Hillary Clinton as the next president than Donald Trump.

“Personally, I think Hillary Clinton would be a better president than Donald Trump because I think that Donald Trump is a dangerous person and is someone who would embarrass America,” Stuart Stevens, who advised 2012 nominee Mitt Romney, said Tuesday on Bloomberg’s “With All Due Respect.”

“I have no desire to see Hillary Clinton as president of the United States,” he added. “But if this is the choice — I will not give her my vote, but I can’t support Donald Trump.”

I don’t know what would have them freaking so badly.

The Cheap Labor Express is breathing down their necks.
The RNC/GOP has already been paid for an amnesty candidate.
They were supposed to prevent us from electing a President who would stop the illegal alien inundation.

You made an accusation against other Freepers. You said they were lying about Trump. Everything we’ve said here about Trump can be backed up.

Now, since you can’t back up your accusation, like Trump himself, you make others the issue.

Boom!!! Another day. Another Trumper shot down.

PS. He did praise PP. You can only hope he doesn’t fund them

I don’t see how Marco wins Florida.
He is not particularly popular in Florida according
to all I know who live there.

To his credit Trump said some of the right things last night about unifying the party. I have my doubts he can do it, but he said the right things.

I, too, hope if Trump is elected that he has been campaigning in good faith.

I am trying to puzzle out the reasoning here, however.

Graham would back Cruz, presumably because he is less anti-establishment than Trump? Certainly, if Trump were a buddy of these boys in the senate, if he had plans to grow government by leaps and bounds, they'd be supporting him, right? Is it that they worry Trump might actually push to secure the borders? Or is it because he's not in the political class — is it any politician is better than a non-politician?

Are we thinking Trump is a big-government disaster in the making, and the GOP wants to save us from him because they have suddenly converted to wanting what's best for the country rather than themselves?

Or are they thinking that this is their means to getting Clinton and continue the march we are on?

“So if the wise and God-inspired evangelicals didn’t want Cruz....why would the rest of America want him?”

You are assuming Trump supporters will stay home if another Conservative is nominated. If that is the case, then Conservatism commits suicide.

It isn’t like instead of Trump, Rubio or Kacish is the candidate.

So maybe it’s not an issue thing — that flavor of conservative or liberal is not part of the equation? Maybe he’s just not one of ‘them’, he’s of the wrong ‘class’? It boils down to bigotry, then. Maybe they see the biggest threat to themselves and their system would be to allow the public to get the idea that they can elect someone from outside the club — regardless of his position on any issue.

I agree. It's all about the money and power.

Trump must have pondered a long time before he decided to self fund.

The bottom line...Trump has created a third party within the bounds of the Republican Party.....and it's amazing.
