If Cruz and Rubio contest the Winner-Take-All and Winner-Take-Most states, Donald Trump will walk away with all the delegates with 35-40% of the votes, and the nomination.
The only way for Cruz or Rubio to win this thing is for one or the other of them to win these crucial Winner-Take-All/Most primaries.
So the path forward is for Cruz and Rubio to cross-endorse one another in each of the remaining Winner-Take-All/Most primaries, depending on which one is doing strongest in that particular state. Between the two of them, they have enough support to win all of the remaining Winner-Take-All/Most primaries.
They can continue to go head-to-head in all of the Proportional Distribution primaries.
Then at the Convention, the one with the most delegates gets the endorsement of the other, and the other gets the VEEP nomination.
Cruz Endorses Rubio Maine Puerto Rico Florida Illinois Northern Mariana Islands US Virgin Islands New York Connecticut Delaware Maryland Rhode Island Oregon California New Jersey
Total Cruz Endorse Rubio - 679 Delegates
Rubio Endorses Cruz
Idaho Washington DC Missouri North Carolina Ohio Arizona Utah Wisconsin Pennsylvania Indiana Nebraska West Virginia Washington Montana New Mexico South Dakota
Total Rubio Endorse Cruz - 675 Delegates
Or they can continue to duke it out in each and every state and both lose...
Sigh. The delusion is strong with this one.
The problem with this plan is that Cruz and Rubio hate each other.
Cruz keeps repeating the lie that Trump funded the Gang of 8. If Cruz cuts a deal or endorses the leader of the gang, his career will be over.
The primaries need to be over soon so one can get on to defeating Hillary. The longer these go on at this point, the weaker the nominee will become.
Not gonna happen.
They’re doomed to be niche candidates: Cruz is the darling of the Santorum-Huckabee crowd and Boobio appeals to the opposite set of voters: affluent, college-educated moderates.
Its like night and day between them.
An anti-Trump candidate isn’t going to materialize any time soon.
Hope speaks eternal. Delusional, because none of the current candidates are going to drop out. Hubris will sink them all.
The ONLY WAY either of these guys can win.....
.... if BOTH of the OTHER two drop out!.....LOL
Fantasy Land for the anti-Trumps.
REALITY CHECK-—Cruz won AK, TX, OK.....but he acted like HE had swept Super Tuesday.
This was Cruz territory-conservative country-he had launched a huge bid for southern evangelicals.
But they rejected Cruz in favor of Trump on Super Tuesday and in SC.
So if the wise and God-inspired evangelicals didnt want Cruz....why would the rest of America want him?
Either will endorse the other in a 1-1 vs. Trump.

No one gets anything but a brokered convention and Hillary for President with your plan.
Cruz and Rubio can continue to duke it out in all of the proportional states. But it makes no sense for them both to lose in any of the winner-take-all states.
They don’t have to like each other for this to work. In fact, they can and must continue to go after one another to get as many as the proportional delegates as possible, because that is the way one or the other of them wins at the convention.
All they are doing it making sure that each of them win the winner take all states that the other never had a shot in anyway.
.... if BOTH of the OTHER two drop out!.....LOL
Exactly!
But BOTH of them only drop out in the Winner-Take-All primaries they were going to LOSE anyway!
Cruz will never endorse Rubio and vice versa. Bank on it.
Their thinking is that they might run against each other again in 4 years. They will compete this year until the very end even if it’s just for second place.
If they can’t get the nomination the second choice for both of them is Trump.
But there is no way to get there is they both keep slugging it out in these winner-take-all primaries.
If this goes no past March 22 (or April 19 latest), it's all over. The math will grind them into the dust, and Trump will win the nomination.
But wouldn’t each of them rather be running for First Place in 2016?
Neither is conceding a thing in this plan. All they are doing is making sure the Winner Take All delegates they were going to lose anyway go to the other instead of Donald Trump.
That way they both stay in the race. Otherwise, they both lose.
Under this plan, it is not a brokered convention. It is a first ballot win for either Cruz or Rubio, depending on who walks in with the most delegates.
It is even possible, under this plan, that one of them walks in with more than half outright, if he does well enough in the proportional states.
But you’re right. This whole thing is about avoiding handing the election to Hillary. If we continue the way we are going, that is exactly what we will be doing.
