February 2016 Ratings: Fox News Is Most-Watched Cable Channel for 6 Weeks, Breaking 13-Year Record

Fox News has broken its own record that stood since the Iraq War. The channel has been the most-watched basic cable network for the past six weeks, which hasn’t happened since March/April 2003, at the start of the Iraq War. In prime time, FNC was up +22 percent in viewers and up +24 percent in the A25-54 demo. In total day viewing, FNC was up +20 percent and up +16 percent, respectively.

The ratings for February, 2016 (Nielsen Live + Same Day data):

Prime time (Mon-Sun): 2,220,000 total viewers / 427,000 A25-54

Total Day (Mon-Sun): 1,340,000 total viewers / 263,000 A25-54

Like its cable news competitors, the 2016 primaries have also been good to Fox News. But unlike CNN and MSNBC, FNC did not have the advantage of a primary debate in February. (That changes this week.) Hannity, which had multiple interviews with GOP candidates last month, showed the most growth: up +33 percent in both viewers and the demo. The O’Reilly Factor remains cable news’s No. 1 show, up +8 percent. The Kelly File (up +9 percent) follows, with Special Report with Bret Baier in third place. This was Baier’s most-watched month in the demo since November 2013.

You did not read the post, which is surprising. Their viewership has increased significantly. Read it again, slowly and carefully so you can understand.

Yup, subtract the Debates and they, as they released yesterday, have lost 50% of Republican Viewers.

These are independent numbers. All viewing numbers come from Nielsen. Sorry about that.

I don’t know. I haven’t looked at those numbers either.

Everyday, I say a prayer for the safety of Trump, Cruz and their families. I put nothing past the GOPe now working arm in arm with the Democrats to put Hillary in the White House.
It’s going to be a long nine months till November.

Funny, though. MSNBC has increased their audience 56% this year! FOX and CNN had lesser increases. What’s up with the dueling numbers? Maybe in certain time slots, or day time to prime time to late night.

I know a lot of us are now tuned in to Morning Joe for early morning, when FOX went into TRUMP assassin mode.

I have a feeling they don’t care or even know you are watching something else. Lots of other folks are. You did see Megyn’s numbers are up 9%. Impressive.

WHat would be more interesting is long-term trends to see if the others are closing the gap at all. It’s pretty amazing Fox has remained so far ahead when everything they do is right out there ready to be copied by competitors.

for more info (fox up 18% CNN up 30%)

Looking at Nielsen’s most current estimates for the Dec. 29, 2014-Dec. 27, 2015 ratings year, Fox News Channel easily led among the cable news networks in the key adults 25-54 demo during primetime. Its average audience of 349,000 viewers in the demo was up 13% vs. 2014, and was followed by CNN with 243,000 (up 30%), MSNBC with 143,000 (down 18%) and HLN with 114,000 (down 3%).

Fox News Is Most-Watched Cable Channel for 6 Weeks,

Lots of stuff happening now with Trump and the election... and we have few choices.

That said I suspect the loyalty conservatives had for FOXNews is broken... Not gone, but if someone else came along a lot of us would leave.

The first Republican debate of 13 million viewers, is why they beat every other cable network in that Six Week Window.

Wrong...it was a favorable rating...did not measure viewership. Their ratings are up significantly. A few hundred eyeballs boycotting a cable network when there are 315 million people in this country makes me laugh.

I always have to dumb myself down when posting to a Trump voter, so here goes. The article clearly states Fox did not have a debate in the whole month of February. Read the article. Besides, they measured 6 weeks of ratings, which is 1,008 hours and even if there was a debate that is only 3 hours out of 1008, which is three thousandths of one percent, shown this way: .003

So, Fox has more eyeballs than any other basic cable channel in the whole country. Ratings are up double digits. Oh well.

Something is up.

Conservatives aren’t going to watch Kelly, so who does that leave?

Democrats have hated FoxNews since day one.

Most of my close friends have quit watching Fox. They can’t be the only ones in America.

All the establishment cheerleaders here are so joyful for fox’s numbers.

They must be excited to welcome all those other establishment pukes and libs who are now watching the network.

They are so glad to see conservatives fleeing the network as the Murdoch 2.0s steer the network leftwards.

Go establishment go!

Go establishment go!

/sarcasm and lolay (laughing out loud at you)
