Houston, Texas – The single most important day of the Republican primary season. That’s today, Super Tuesday, according to Ted Cruz, and if he gets his way, it’s also the day the contest will narrow to a two-man race and allow him to square off directly with Donald Trump. After casting his vote in Texas’s primary at Houston’s West Gray Community Center, Cruz told reporters that after 11 states go to the polls today, he and Trump will shoot ahead in the delegate race. “I think tomorrow morning you’re going to see a clear choice with two candidates both with a big chuck of delegates and the remainder of the candidates with very very few,” he said. Cruz’s attention remains focused on rival Marco Rubio, and he essentially called Rubio and the rest of his challengers to drop out of the race. “To get to the nomination you need 1,237 delegates. And so I will say for any candidate who wakes up tomorrow morning who has not won any states, for any candidate who wakes up tomorrow morning who has a negligible number of delegates, I think it’s time to start thinking about coming together and unifying and presenting a clear choice,” he said.

What is the rationale for him staying in the race?”

RNC tool, pure & simple. He’ll do what he’s told.

If Rubio drops out his supporters will be in a pickle. You can bet the majority of them won’t go to Trump or Cruz but maybe to Kasich. But still it will leave Kasich a distant third and probably the relative positions of Cruz and Trump won’t change.

Would you want a candidate that uses IRS as a weapon, says people are guilty with no evidence, but claims he is a Constitutionalist?
Think about it.
I can’t tell if you talking about Cruz or the kenyan. Sad ending to a “principled conservative”.

Even if Rubio comes second in his own home state.
They hate him in Florida.
To: lodi90
He (or she) is talking about Cruz. He’s the one who came out and said that Trump must be cheating on his taxes, or the IRS wouldn’t be auditing him. Reprehensible.

“Im sure Karl Rove will be telling us how Rubio won tonight even though he lost.”
You can take that to the bank. Also throw in Megyn Kelly as another one.

[Both hands raised in the universal symbol - “I mean no harm”....] Is there a story out there about Cruz using or planning to use the IRS as a weapon? Seriously curious.

I guess you have not been paying attention to the news?
LOL! S.M.H.

Yes, and Cruz also said reason Trump is not releasing his taxes is his is likely donating to PP. While Cruz himself not releasing the schedules to his taxes or last year at all. Not nonsense and vile demagoguery from the “principled conservative”.

Truth hurts loser.
When was the last time you donated to Free Republic?
To: McGruff; All
Yup. The other day Cruz recited Trumps 6 or so talking points almost word for word. Despicable.

That would be Cruz telling Rubio to get lost.
Not you...Sorry for not being clear
To: Enlightened1
I think its time to start thinking about coming together and unifying and presenting a clear choice, The Cabana boys fighting it out on who drops out and supports the other. Cruz and Rubio are GOPe.

Rubio will support Cruz and vice versa? The only real insurgent is Trump. Do you think Rubio supporters will vote for Cruz, the pariah of the party? Or that Cruz supporters will go for amnesty boy?
If Rubio were to drop out along with the others, Trump will easily defeat Cruz, especially as the campaign heads North and West.

I read another report that Cruz had approached foam boy for a SCOTUS appointment to drop out himself.
