Tithing is an Old Testament Legalism.
It sure is great for funding “Pastors” and “Church” buildings.
It’s benefit is Charitable Contribution for Tax returns.
Tithers and Churches(Non profit) will be in for a big surprise when IRS dis-allows Charitable.
God loves a cheerful giver. (Not a cheerful deducter.)
Give cheerfully, and let God (and God alone) keep track of your ‘contributions’).
The Trumpettes will gladly pick apart Cruz’s tax returns, but ignore the fact that Trump won’t release his.

Cruz's Daddy was originally a Catholic and that was so for most of his years. (Not many evangelists in Cuba).

Is he a good person? Of course....But it's not his soul that's on fire, it's his pants.
Not to mention, recent IRS regulations regarding charitable donations now require further qualifications of the recipients, thereby removing a large percentage of actual charitable giving which may be recognized by the IRS.
It doesn’t mean the taxpayer hasn’t been tithing.
Heidi’s family is involved in missionary work in Kenya and Haiti. I suspect that the Cruz’s cover a lot of their needs and a by-product of doing it within the family would not appear on Cruz’s or the missionary’s taxes. I say this because good friends of mine are missionaries in Kenya. If they come to the state I live I make sure I pick up a lot of their expenses - just me looking out for friends. And it is inconceivable that they do not support Heidi’s family’s mission work and their needs.
I saw a report today that Trump donated $960,000 or so to republicans and only $564,000 to dims.
And he has told everyone why.
