What are the other options?
We woke up one morning and the USSR was kaput. Happened “overnight”.
I was in Mongolia afterwards and observed two things.
1) They were excited about the future. All the old rules were gone but they in control of their future. But times were hard.
2) They were rediscovering their heritage, which in their case was Buddhism and Gengas Kahn.
If you cannot see the implication of Trump's ignorance of anything old that he can see and his ignorance of ideas written into our Founding documents, then I know you do not have your thinking cap on.
“I don’t have to prove that Trump will ignore the Constitution.”
If you posit that as the argument for not voting for Trump on a political forum, yeah, you kind of do have to provide some proof.
You have a few tyrannical tendencies. I’m here to help you get through them.
I was never “for” Obama, or Hillary, or Bill. I never would have called you anything if you opposed them.
I don’t care if you criticize Trump, but I would like for you to make a stronger argument against him, Constitutionally, than you’ve been able to make thus far.
“The difference with Trump is that he is basically an ignorant man who wants desperately to have others think that he is not.”
So far the voters are buying this approach. Barring any surprises, he’s going to be our nominee, and our President.
Now what?
I may be exhausted but I am not willing to just hand everything off to the man who needs to be flattered and promises the most.
The “Invisible Hand” has not gone away. We the people are still part of the equation. The market place still speaks thought it is almost invisible now.
We as individuals will step up to the job when we have to and not before. BUT IT WILL BE TOUGH TIMES BUT THOSE TOUGH TIMES WILL DEFINE US...............
“Trump’s ignorance of anything old”
You again, provide no clear evidence of this, nor do you provide logic to tie this to the Constitution.
Advice: the use of the word “anything” does not make your argument very easy to support. You tend towards hyperbole. Maybe you could make your arguments supportable if you removed that tendency.
There is plenty to argue against Trump...you are just ineffective in doing so.
That is one man biased opinion. I invited you to read the actual opinion by both Alito and Barry and use your own mind. Obviously you are not smart enough to do that and would rather repeat false material
I have pinged Jim to see if he really wants this type of garbage repeatedly posted on FR.
Not really.
We have had a great experiment go on for over 200 years. The USSR was at the tail end of their short-lived commie experiment that was rejected by the people.
Right now we have a turning point to face.
Are we going to go with Bernie and his out and out socialism where everything is free?
Are we going to go with Hillary and her hidden marxism and her plan to push us into the Animal Farm utopia where she rules supreme with an iron fist?
Are we going to go with Trump who has no core values except for what The Donald wants which may or may not line up with what we really need?
I don't like any of those scenarios. They are all extremely risky.
I would rather go with the guy who has proven that he knows what is written in the Constitution and is willing to protect it with his life.
We are at a turning point.
The truth is garbage. I get it.
The only reason why our economy has not fallen on its face is because we the people have more of hand in it that the economists can possibly understand.
It keeps bouncing back no matter what Obama and his planners do.
So, I understand the "invisible hand."
Do you really think someone who lives on flattery has what it takes to care for We the People? How can he care for us when he demands to be constantly stroked?
Have you studied Plutarch? I mean studied not just read?
FYI....when someone asks for you to be “banned” you have won the argument.
We may not see eye-to-eye on your arguments against Trump (and I’ve tried pretty hard!) but you won whatever argument you were having against this poster.
I really dislike these tactics of silencing your debate opponent by removing them from debate.
“Have you studied Plutarch? I mean studied not just read?”
No. Never studied. But if you are going to make this the basis of another unsupported argument against Trump, please warn me in advance.
No hyperbole please.
Not asking for removal just asking that truthful articles be posted or at least truthful links be followed when false material is presented. What part of unconstitutional do ( you)they not understand?
Same people promoting this also support Cruz and Rubio eligibility for POTUS. Do you have problems with judge Scalios original constitutional interpretation of the constitution too? His interpretation would be that neither Cruz, Obama or Rubio are qualified as he was the paramount scholar of original intent which has repeatedly been presented here For a conservatives website some on here have certainly inbraced living document (liberal) philosophy
This is a conservative website or is it?
Argue for the truth you see. Do it as best as you can. If you get disagreement or lose the argument, no need to run to the owner of the website.
I don’t believe you are not asking for removal. I think that is exactly what you want, otherwise you wouldn’t have done what you did.
Don’t be lame, don’t be weak-minded, don’t run to mommy every time you get a well-deserved rhetorical wedgie.
They read Plutarch because he gave them the tremendous lessons on political character and what makes for good leadership.
They also read about what makes for bad leadership that leads to imprisonment of the people.
I studied Plutarch in depth. I has to write a 25 page paper detailing the difference between two pairs of leaders. I compared two who were good and left the people alone. And I compared two who were awful and led to great harm.
Do you know that the most common trait the two bad ones shared was that both leaders had to have people say nice things about them? They also promised the gravy train and security. But the moment they became the leaders they killed off all their rivals and had laws passed that ensnared the people into hardship.
Trump has just announced that he is going to change libel laws to make it easier to go after the media who are not kind to him.
We are at the very same point where the Romans decided that they would go with the guy who would just take all the problems off their hands. That is when they lost their Republic.
All because they had ignored their history.
Do you really think someone who lives on flattery has what it takes to care for We the People? How can he care for us when he demands to be constantly stroked?
Right now we need some one to tear down those walls so we can rebuild. The rebuilding is OUR job.
Sad to say the best thing that could happen to us is all the power in DC is destroyed. Now power does not disappear, it goes somewhere, always does.
Maybe the better question is do we want someone to TEAR DOWN THOSE WALLS, beginning to think we don’t...............
Nothing to do with how long one has been on a website. It is about the quality of what one puts out,.
If we don’t set the government straight then it takes over completely EVERY aspect of our lives.
The difference is you think we can fix it, I don’t. More power to you but history shows different. Even God in the Bible destroys the old and builds on the remnant............
We have a crap storm coming and there is no safe harbor. The only things we don’t know is the when and the how. In some ways Trump may be the least chaotic “how”.
Elections are revolutions as our founders designed them.
Very few of us want liberty and the responsibility that comes with it. It is much safer to be slaves...............
We have had a great experiment go on for over 200 years. The USSR was at the tail end of their short-lived commie experiment that was rejected by the people.
The problem is the powerful central government, not fixing the powerful central government.
We are way past conservative issues and constitutional issues.
Regarding our similarity to USSR.
1) They ran out of money. Couldn’t raise taxes from the satellite countries and couldn’t borrow on the world market. They had driven private enterprise into the ground so far it was dead.
2) The satellite countries began to view the central authority as weak, decided to claim some power for them selves. We have states standing up to the feds on several issues.
3) The people began to ignore the heavy burden of over regulation.
Washington DC is not going to give up their power willingly. There will be a fight and they have not and are not going to follow constitutional rules......................
