We're in a funny moment. Those who do politics for a living, some of them quite brilliant, are struggling to comprehend the central fact Republican primary race, while regular people have already absorbed what has happened and is happening. Journalists and politicos have been sharing schemes for how Marco parlays a victory out of winning nowhere, or Ted roars back, or Kasich has to finish second in Ohio. But in my experience any nonpolitical person on the street, when asked who will win, not only knows but gets a look as if you're teasing him. Trump.

I don’t need to read it.
Excellent. Thanks, lakeshark
I have soured on Steve Deace. I thought he was brilliant, but he's fallen hook, line, and sinker for Cruz. It's about policy with Deace, but he's DEFINITELY one of these Evangelicals who are bowled over by the candidate's "walk." And Deace has participated in the "Trump's for single-payer, totally socialist healthcare" lie, based ENTIRELY on Trump's remarks about the very poor dying in the streets.
I don’t have any buddies at the RNC and I think that there were some good candidates coming up who weren’t going to be RNC favorites but were young, aware and had real plans - until an old rich guy decided that the next fun thing would be to buy himself the candidacy. Then, media savvy as he is from his trash tv days, he sorted around until he got a “position” - no matter how little grounded in fact or real possibility - that resonated.
What people here don’t seem to understand is that he’s part of the protected class, he was born into it and he has never been anywhere else. I remember his comment that going to his exclusive military prep school was like serving in the armed forces! I was surprised veterans didn’t rise up as a group to kick his posterior.
It’s like Obama pretending to have been an American black who grew up in the ghetto and really knows how it was - while he’s half white and was brought up in a prosperous white family and brought up mostly abroad. But blacks bought the image, and Obama has been having a really cool time in the White House ever since, hanging out with black mega-millionaire celebrities and playing golf and making the occasional arrogant statement. Meanwhile, blacks have done nothing but get worse off.

Very well said.
Thanks - I had to pre-empt the “Trump’s ego” like of response...and I did.
The old rich guy is obviously Trump, but we also had Walker, Fiorina, and Jindal, all people with proven economic success. Fiorina saved a company athough it meant merging and firing a lot of deadwood (which is still very resentful about it), Walker successfully opposed the civil service unions that have totally devastated our cities, and Jindal managed to clean things up in a corrupt Dem fiefdom and get a lot of black people on board with his more responsible, pro-growth approach.
But everything is so media driven nowadays that nobody cares about or even knows or wants to know what a candidate really thinks.
When you consider ‘protection’ of this country from permanently being changed for the worse, the others come up way short.
But I would agree, if Immigration wasn’t an issue, there were some DAMN GOOD candidates running.
Non of us EVER dared to say what we felt about immigration, we were called racist!!! To constantly hear that WE HAD to embrace Hispanic voters if we were to EVER win an election, knowing these BASTARDS let them stay in the country in the first place!!!! Then Trump comes along and BOOM he is saying what we have all been SCREAMING under our breath!!! I guarantee you illegals are voting in CA.!!!
