Chris Christie Endorses Donald Trump
The New York Times ^ | February 25, 2016 | Staff

Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey endorsed Donald J. Trump on Friday, a major turn in a wild race and one that gives the New York businessman a major boost as he heads into the pivotal Super Tuesday contests.

Mr. Christie was a candidate himself until he came in sixth place in New Hampshire’s primary. But his backing of Mr. Trump comes after weeks of him saying that it was time for the “entertainment” portion of the race to end, and as he had said that the type of executive leadership that a governor has is important.

Trump just snatched the news cycle again away from the dumb debate last night.

Bingo!

Christie is a corrupt, mob-friendly East coast RINO.

I’m sorry, but...this gives me grounds to reconsider and give Ted Cruz another look-see.

What would you be saying if Christie had endorsed Cruz instead?

“Gives Trump a much much better shot now at taking New Jersey and New York.”

Yeah, whether he thinks the guy is a POS or not. Good political insider move.

One of the reasons I like Trump is he’s smart, and I mean very smart.

Christie endorsing this morning has completely halted the media narrative this morning (about the debate) and this will be the talk all weekend.

Now that Christy has endorsed Trump he will no longer be the (according to a lot of Freepers before) the big, fat, slob, who loves Obama.

I can't wait till Jeff Sessions endorses Trump this weekend. Probably Sunday in Huntsville.

The Cruzer reaction to that will be worth videotaping.

“Kind of like how Cruz people embraced Rubio and Romney.”

Well I like Cruz but cannot stomach Romney and neither do I like Rubio. However Cruz did not endorse Rubio, he just said he would be better than Trump. I agree with that. Trump is like voting for a fart in the wind that sings whatever tune you want to hear. I have no idea what he stands for except to belittle people and act like a bratty kid. He changes his position as fast as a baby needs a diaper change.

He says he want to build a wall and deport people but yet says they can come right back in. What is the point then?

Really think you are going to insult people into supporting your candidate?

You nailed it. Plus, the insulters will next begin to report how they'll stay home election day. Me, I'm supporting the nominee, even if he isn't perfect in every way. ABH, man, ABH.

I watched the Trump-Christie presser. It was all Rubio, Rubio, Rubio questions. Cruz is toast. Totally off the radar. Done.

Good summery. Surprise endorsement, but I'd say Christie is closer ideologically to Trump than Cruz. But there's no doubt Cruz is to his right and Trump is to his left.

I bet the pro-Trump freepers who love to scream "RINO" at Christie and Huckabee's family (and tell us how much they loathe anything those candidates say or do), will be doing a 180o now that Huck's daughter and Christie on are the Trump express. They had nothing but contempt for Huckabee when he was running, but I've already seen several tout him as a veep choice if he pimps Trump's policies. Cuz, you know, Trump is the "anti-establishment" candidate.

For I record, I support Cruz, but when people I loathe like Justin Amash endorse him, it doesn't change my feelings about them. I think Cruz should keep his distance from them.

Absolutely. He’s finished in Jersey. Why to you think he had a “Come to Jesus” moment on illegal immigration a few weeks back?

FDA? Agriculture?

Bridges and infrastructure. lol

I think this is a pretty big deal actually. Gingrich said a couple weeks ago that one of the things that impresses him about Trump is how quick a learner he is, and how he is on a trajectory of absorption that would benefit him on Super Tuesday. Here it is, Trump had this endorsement in his pocket, and waited until the perfect moment.

Doesn't matter what someone thinks of Christie, the conversation is about Trump and his scoring the endorsement.
