Weeks of harsh attacks on his integrity and character have hurt Texas Sen. Ted Cruz among self-identified Republicans, conservatives and Christian voters, a new survey shows, providing an opening to Florida Sen. Marco Rubio on the day of the last Republican debate before next week's all-important Super Tuesday contests.
The new Morning Consult survey shows Cruz's favorable ratings among Republican voters at 56 percent, down five points in just the last two weeks. Cruz's favorable ratings have fallen by six points among the most conservative voters, to 53 percent, and by eight points among Christian voters, to 38 percent.
The drop in Cruz's popularity comes as he surrenders his second-place standing in the GOP field to Rubio. The poll shows real estate tycoon Donald Trump continuing to lead the Republican field, with 42 percent of the vote, while Rubio places second, at 19 percent, and Cruz finishes third, at 14 percent.
Two weeks ago, Cruz led Rubio by seven points, 17 percent to 10 percent. In both polls, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson and Ohio Gov. John Kasich failed to reach double digits.

Yeah.....41.7% and above gives market domination.
Its not about trump winning its about the people winning and sticking it to the GOP and the rats in control
Uh-huh. And now expecting the whole country to rationalize that he's NBC and eligible for the office, and BTW the RNC and the MSM just look the other way...
Amazing. Conservatives are subject to character attacks and someone as bad as Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo would be elected by Democrats in a heartbeat. If you don’t know who Frida Kahlo was, get to reading.
Yeah.....41.7% and above gives market domination.

True dat, but when there are five or so candidates splitting the vote that percentage
is a strong position to have.
If three of the other four dropped out an all their support went to one then it would be
another story, but chances are slim and none that will happen, imo.

Another Cruz lie. No wonder no one trusts this guy. #GOPDebate
Cruz: Trump said he wouldn't stand with Israel.— American Hank (@_HankRearden) February 26, 2016
Sigh. Yet another Cruz lie: 'Trump supported the toppling of Qadafiin Libya.' Dirtiest campaign ever. #GOPDebatehttps://t.co/FuSrnjtRSn— American Hank (@_HankRearden) February 26, 2016
Lame attack by Cruz on Trump re: Israel. He's anti-Israel because he gave $ to Dems? C'mon, that's a stretch.— Howie Carr (@HowieCarrShow) February 26, 2016
UNBELIEVABLE!! Ted Cruz STILL lying about trumps actual healthcare! https://t.co/e4lWPTgTIY @CStevenTucker #TCOT pic.twitter.com/sknGZePuZi— Lori Hendry (@Lrihendry) February 26, 2016
Texans are trusting....they are not stupid.
Rubio hurt himself last night with his unending sniping on Trump. Most observers saw it as unfair and he came across as very small.
Pray AMerica wakes
......and Donald didn/t even break a sweat.....
Oh My, I totally agree. He looked like a high school student in a debate, very unimpressive and not at all presidential.
Yep, they were unhinged.
+1
Trump has essentially taken Cruz out. He might continue hammering on him until Super Tuesday so he can take Texas. After that he trains his cannons on Rubio. His goal is to completely and utterly demolish the notion that any other candidate has any legitimacy in the Republican party. It’s a firewall against a brokered convention.
This is the early 1900s all oover again. At that time they were so sick and tired of the corruption that the progressives gained control.
Robot Rubio reminded me of a snipping toy poodle. He even had his cheerleader wife or some hired screamer in the audience. It only reminded me more of his amnesty stand. I thought Rubio sounded ridiculous most of the time, but FOX is praising him. Actually MSNBC gave a much fairer coverage of the debate, at least on this morning. I guess pigs do fly.
Yep. Trump, Carson and Kasich were the only eligible candidates on that stage.
WOW!!
Last night I thought their Presidential Stature Appearance was:
1- Trump
2- Kasuich
3- Cruz
4- Carson
5- Rubio
