RNC sees leverage over Trump

Donald Trump has steamrolled toward the Republican nomination by lambasting all things political establishment, and now that establishment thinks it can convince their insult-wielding front-runner he needs them.

Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus has begun stating in private meetings that the party has sway over its at times unwelcome front-runner because it has tools Trump will need to use to win a general election -- voter data and field, digital and media operations that a nominee typically inherits from the party infrastructure.

Dangling access to these resources, Priebus thinks he can help steer Trump toward partywide policy goals and away from the inflammatory rhetoric that Republican officials see as divisive and dangerous, especially outside of the primary, according to two Republican sources who have spoken with the RNC chairman. ...

Trump would make blackmail public and would use it to get even more VOTERS.

Don’t like the Trump, but Priebus is foolish to believe that Trump would need the party’s help if he gets the nomination.

Trump’s pockets are deep enough to gather the resources he would need.

So much for “the pledge.” We knew it was worthless anyway, the RNC NEVER fulfils its promises. Most untrustworthy organization EVER.

Second party.

The Uniparty is bad enough. It’s RINO wing needs to go the way of the Whigs, really.

Of course this is an opinion piece, but seldom have I seen an organization more delusional than the RNC and the broader GOPe.

Good luck with it.

Trump can’t be bought and he’s managed to run a winning campaign without the RNC’s so-called help.

"Partywide policy goals?" What would those be I wonder?
The only partywide policy goals I've seen is doing what the Democrats tell them to do.

Yep, Trump would make this public and drive even more voters his way. I wonder how Cruz would handle the situation?

Reince is dreaming. Donald has amassed an entire movement without him.

But if Reince and his pathetic band of slobbering GOPe stooges want to play ball, I’m sure Donald has a bench for them somewhere to sit on and keep warm. Problem is, they are probably going to have to pay to sit on the bench.

voter data and field, digital and media operations that a nominee typically inherits from the party infrastructure.

Voter Vault has gotten stale over the years. I spent all of election day making calls for Romney and it was the biggest waste of time I have done in years. Romney's ORCA GOTV package was a textbook example of how not to run such a program on all levels. We've seen how much impact Super PAC advertising has had.

About all the RNC can offer Trump is a bite from a stale, moldy sandwich.

Rancid Prius is doing his best Kevin Bacon impression from Animal House. Remain calm, all is well!

He’s our inevitable nominee guys, but don’t fret. We can control him...I think.

What happened to the RNC pledge everyone signed to support the people’s elected candidate?

Seems the eGOP is showing their true colors again.

They just don’t get it. This is Trump’s reality show and they keep giving ammunition every day. Trump is a guy who thinks like a quarter back and acts and talks like a middle linebacker. He will taunt you from any where on the field. Everything just keep going his way.
