Donald Trump will hold a mega-rally Friday morning at the Fort Convention Center.
Kirk Slaughter, director of public events for the convention center, said the Trump campaign has reserved space in the center from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. He said at least one person has already secured for the event.
The convention center has space for about 8,000 people, Slaughter said.
The rally is part of Trump's push to win Texas, Ted Cruz's home state.
The New York businessman has opened a campaign office in DeSoto, where volunteers are making telephone calls to potential voters in the March 1 primary.
State grassroots activists, even those loyal to Cruz, say they expect Trump to have a significant number of volunteers in the Lone Star State, though it won't match the organization already in place by the Texas senator.

Fort Worth is the only Republican city of the largest six or seven in TX.
Cruz is putting all his eggs in one state his home state.
About 11 Texas Cruz events coming up. He’s desperate to win one state (desperate to win any state really) out of over a dozen Super Tuesday states.

Donald has already won THIS Texan. Sick of dirty corrupt career politicians.
Trump is going to take off like a prairie fire down there...
I’ll bet he’s quite competitive in the state, even if he doesn’t win it.
They must have remodeled the Convention Center. I have been in that building hundreds of times and it will hold a whole lot more than 8k people, imo.
I wager he wins it!
