A group of scientists says it has now reconstructed the history of the planet's sea levels arcing back over some 3,000 years - leading it to conclude that the rate of increase experienced in the 20th century was "extremely likely" to have been faster than during nearly the entire period.
"We can say with 95 percent probability that the 20th-century rise was faster than any of the previous 27 centuries," said Bob Kopp, a climate scientist at Rutgers University who led the research with nine colleagues from several U.S. and global universities. Kopp said it's not that seas rose faster before that - they probably didn't - but merely that the ability to say as much with the same level of confidence declines.

Back in the day one of the lines from Freeze a Yankee was to the effect that we’d send them lots of oil if they promised not to move down here.
Sadly, it didn’t seem to make a difference.
Here's a link to an article about the NON INCREASE in sea level rise:

There were two ancient inland seas in northern America (if I recall accurately but the biggest went from the rockies to the west side of the Appalachians. Time periods ranged from the Ordovician, Devonian, Permian, through the Cambrian with some possibly Pennsylvanian (coal) thrown in.
I believe some of the Wyoming fossil rivers and basins were younger Cretaceous too, as well as Triassic and Juraissic in spots.
They found a dinosaur footprint about 3 blocks from my old apartment in northern Virginia and we found a dinosaur knuckle bone (Cretaceous) where the Fed-Ex Field is in nearby Maryland.
Ancient America must have been one of the most incredible sites for life in the world. Australia, though, had even weirder things who would make your swimming trips very dangerous.
In summary, they have no actual data, just SWAGS that they are trying to manipulate to support their unsupportable theory of Global Warming cause by man.
I thought we had moved on to the thirsty continents phase of the scam. These concurring scientists need to stay on top of updates.

Global Warming on Free Republic here, here, and here
Such bs i have been going to the same beach for close to 50 years its still the same walk from the parking lot to the water
That’s because they move the parking lots at night.
The Babylonian interns were still fetching kebabs for their teachers rather than taking notes on sea level.
“Maybe we’re building too many heavy buildings and roads and it’s making the continents sink.”
Not only that but there is too much lead in the ground water, making what scientists call “heavy water”, causing the ground sink as fast as sea levels are rising and it’s all due to human activity. Part of the reason that sea levels are elevated is that there are too many boats and submarines in the world’s lakes, rivers, oceans, etc. Together they displace another ocean’s worth of water and it has no where to go but up. Understanding man-made global warming, climate change and rising sea levels is remarkably easy!
It's very scary for sure! When the seas rise, there's more ocean... which means more fish... and fish not only displace more water, but they pee a lot which fills up the oceans even more. Its a nightmare playing out right in front of us, and if we don't raise taxes immediately our benevolent government can't save us!
Seas are now rising faster have risen farther than they have in 2,800 years.
Rising faster would be expressed in length per time, e.g. millimeters per century.
The measurement of how far the seas have risen from a reference must take into account any changes in the reference.
LOL - NASA's got a job for YOU equaviator...
Thank you too much!
