In yet another blow to the BDS movement seeking to stir up an international boycott of the Jewish state, the international singer-songwriter phenomenon Sia announced on Tuesday she will be performing in Israel this August.
The Australian pop star announced on Facebook she will be playing at Rishon Lezion's Live Park on August 11. The tickets went on sale starting today on her tour site, and start at 299 shekels going up to 799 shekels.
Sia's announcement further caps a string of top pop stars performing in Israel this summer, as Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez are both to perform at Tel Aviv's Park Hayarkon. Beyonce, like Sia, is to perform in early August.
The world famous DJ Avicii, whose real name is Tim Bergling, is also to perform in Israel on July 22 at Live Park.
Sia, whose full name is Sia Kate Isobelle Furler, often covers her face with a mask or a wig during performances, choosing to avoid the over-fascination in the media with the looks of celebrities.
She was active as a song writer in the music industry for roughly 20 years before she broke it big and became world famous. She has written for Madonna, Britney Spears, Celine Dion and Rihanna, and wrote Rihanna's hit song "Diamonds."

Some say that Sia is the ‘new’ Lady Gaga, but with an Australian accent.
I had never heard of her, so I checked out an You Tube video that had been watched a cool 36 million times. She is pretty good, reminds me of Adele.
Now, the appeal of Beyonce is something I can not understand. She just can not sing. Am I supposed to be impressed by all her mindless gyrations?
I do like Australian accents.
Dunno. Who the hell is she, anyway? What happened to the Beatles and the Rolling Stones? And Ricky Vally, too? When do I get my pills?
“Elastic heart” is a fairly decent song from her.
She did some very good work with Zero 7. Talented woman.
To appreciate Beyonce as she is now, one should think of three letters: KFC, that fun place downtown, filed with breasts, legs and jumbo thighs.
She’s no newcomer she’s been around for a long time. Her time with Zero 7 is probably my favorite. Her harmonies with Tina Dickow are beautiful. Look for them on You Tube.
chandelier is also very good, popular with talent competitions..
Shekels?
Really?
Shekels?
And people wonder why Israel has a PR problem.
Not saying she isn’t a great entertainer, but she kinda reminds of the buck tails we use to troll for striped bass in the spring.
A shekel is about 3.8 to the dollar.
Contestant in the Westminster Dog Show?
Dr. Seuss? One of your drawings has escaped.
Well, shekelim then
And people wonder why Israel has a PR problem.
One need not wonder; Israel has a PR problem because the Hebrew word for God is in the name Israel and people hate the word.
