"....What looked like a three-candidate race coming out of South Carolina looks more like a two-person race in Texas, with Cruz and Trump almost certainly in position to split the state's 155 Republican delegates. Among likely Republican primary voters who identify with the Tea Party, Cruz leads Trump 56 percent to 26 percent in the UT/TT Poll. Among voters who identify as Republicans when given the choice to bolt for the Tea Party, the candidates were relatively even: Cruz had 32 percent to Trump's 30 percent. Rubio had 18 percent of those voters, and 8 percent of those who identify with the Tea Party...
Cruz led in all age groups, notably among voters ages 18 to 29 and voters ages 30 to 44. Trump pulled close among 45- to 64-year-olds, and Cruz had a 9-percentage-point lead among voters over 65. Rubio had 21 percent of that oldest group - his best showing in the age brackets.

That can’t be! According to Joe Scarborough and some freepers, Ted Cruz’s campaign is over...
Something that has gone unnoticed is that Ted Cruz wins the youth vote over Rubio and Trump. I find that really interesting.
Home state lead by single digits. Big whoop...
It’s his home state, genius.
If that’s what you guys are clinging onto, then you folks are in bad shape.
Trump will now go on Twitter and threaten to sue the UT/TT Poll. Oh, and BTW. the people of Texas are stupid.
Biased group, not reliable.
Of course Cruz is going to lead in Texas. He’s a native son, along with being a current sitting US senator from Texas. It would say a lot if he DIDN’T hold a lead in Texas.
I find that interesting, as well. I think the typical young primary voter on the GOP side probably trends more conservative. Think YRs, CPACers, etc. The typical 23 year old probably either is an enthusiastic liberal or enthusiastic conservative. The middle ones may show up in November but not in the spring.
Uhh, well, is Rubio leading in FL? No. Also, in new polls in OH and NC. Much to the dismay of the GOPe, Rubio is going to have to throw in with Cruz, if the GOPe want to stop Trump.
Oh, it is. Rick Tyler just got one less paycheck than the rest. Cruz himself called SC a “must win” race, and we know he doesn’t lie...
Correct!
Ted Cruz won the majority of the youth vote in Iowa and South Carolina and was 2nd in getting the youth vote in New Hampshire.
Meant to say Rubio trails Cruz in NC and OH.
Proportional state
Pretty pathetic showing by Ted in his home state. I guess Ted has a ceiling of between 35/37 in his home state. That’s terrible. Almost Jeb like.
Donald is behind by 8 points, he should get out and endorse Cruz.
We will know by next week.
Trump doesn’t care about losing TX else he would not have carried on this hate campaign to a favored son in TX. Cruz won the Senate thru a real grass roots effort while the hugely powerful GOPe here tried every trick in the book to defeat him. Lies, more lies and even more lies.
Unfortunately Cruz has been through some rough stuff from political parties; Trump will continue to spew the hatred because he wanted to tell everyone he won all the states. Ran the gammit. He said he was going to before the first election.
He will hate Cruz forever for winning Iowa and will continue his embarrassing attacks until Cruz finally leaves the race.
