With Jeb Bush out, Donald Trump has widened his lead in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Republican Voters finds Trump with 36% support, giving him a 15-point lead over Senator Marco Rubio who earns 21% of the vote. Senator Ted Cruz is in third place with 17%.

For Trump, that's a five-point gain in support from the beginning of this month just after the Iowa caucus and right before the New Hampshire primary when it was Trump 31%, Rubio 21% and Cruz 20% among likely GOP voters. Rubio's support has held steady, while support for Cruz has fallen slightly.

In mid-December, Trump led with 29% Republican support, with Cruz in second with 18% and Rubio at 15%.

That’s right, Plenty of time for Hillary. She’s not going to like what’s coming for her.

Over the past several decades, Trump has likely accumulated some VERY good people to dig up info on the people he's thinking of doing deals with, to avoid bad surprises. Such people can do lots of good opposition research.

EVERYTHING is on the shelf and waiting

You don't get it. That's the great thing about Trump. It doesn't matter. Trump is even a bit more well known than Hillary. In her case it's all bad.

In his case, Trump is the great business mogul who says, "Your fired" - and his campaign is doing that to Washington. Remember his stand against the illegals and the cutoff of Muslim immigrants: the media, the democrats and republicans and repudiated him It didn't matter.

Romney had a few malcontent worker ads and a 'binder of women' ad run against him and he never completely recovered.

Any republican candidate will have trash run against him - true or not. If anybody is media savvy it is Trump. He knows what's coming and if anybody can deflect it, it's Trump. Trump is the country's last hope.

Re: “It's estimated that almost four-million Conservative Americans REFUSED in 2012 to vote for Mitt Romney...”

Sorry, Patton, that's not correct.

4 million "white voters" stayed home in 2012, and there is zero evidence that they were Conservatives.

In 2012, Obama lost 5.5 million white voters compared to 2008.

In 2012, Romney got 1.5 million more white voters than McCain got in 2008.

Bottom Line - the 4 million white voters who stayed home in 2012 voted for Obama in 2008.

I want to watch her pinched smile as he calls her a liar to her face.

I think Donald saw that little "what difference at this point does it make" mini meltdown she had in front of the House. He's going to prod her until she has to be pulled screaming from some stage or other.

I’m seeing some unhappy Democrats over the perception that Hillary is stealing the nomination from Bernie. What happens if Hillary wins the nomination, and the Bernie supporters stay home in November?

Don’t worry they are mostly drones that will just be redirected when Hillary gets the nomination.

“You Trump supporters think the “Cruzbots” are mean. You haven’t seen anything yet. They party hasn’t even started. The left is going to slaughter him.”

You’re right! We need to nominate a party insider the press loves, like...I know! John McCain.

The press will go after whoever we nominate. That’s why it’s important to nominate someone that can talk over the press directly to the people. In that skill dept, I would rate the candidates:

1) Trump
2) Rubio
.
.
.
347) Cruz

After Rubio loses Florida and Cruz loses Texas, its over.

On Jebs supporters going for Trump now that Jeb dropped out, that is easy, people like to be with a winner.

Polls show 70% of Republicans think Trump is going to win the nomination.

The GOPe just doesn’t get it.

Go Trump Go

Cruz now vows to deport all illegal aliens

He's a strict Constitutionalists. He has to be for deportation. He said that's was ICE was for. As a Constitutionalists, it's self explanatory.
NOT sending them home breaks our laws. Cruz would have no choice if he wanted to keep his conscience clean and stick to his life long principals .
Cruz is a good man. He's just not one for pomp and glitter, but in today's world celebrity matters.

Trump is celebrity. Otherwise, FReepers would be outraged over Trumps call for single payer health care alone - without even mentioning his support for increased government subsidies or PP. Trump is running more like a democrat, but the pomp and glitter has blinded people to what he's actually campaigning on.
"Make America Great Again" = "Hope and Change." We've seen all this before.

She’s not going to like the tone of what’s coming either. So many tears she ought to bring that hyper sensitive young lady who cries on YouTube on stage with her. Even those drooling in cups won’t buy it.

Trump can be accompanied by victims of Carrier Corp, Nabisco, Ford, victims of illegals, terrorist attacks, elderly Americans who can’t even afford medications, and other Americans who’ve become the results of these failed destructive country killing, screw America policies.

His Bankruptcies are Chapter 11 Reorganizations, which are perfectly legal and used all the time when companies have creditors concerned about the classical agency problem that Managers use resources of the firm to sole benefit of shareholders and themselves with no concerns about how decisions impact creditors (which is why debt contracts are used to monitor the firm, etc.)

Trump started businesses, investors, i.e. equity and debt invested in his firms to make money, sometimes those investments don’t turn out well, sometimes they do, that is the nature of markets, as long as Trump ran those businesses within the law (No Enron, WorldCom type fraud, etc) and their has never been in charges that he ran “fraudulent companies” then Chapter 11 bankruptcies are part of how things work.

Management, shareholders and creditors have a bankruptcy Judge take over and they come to some agreement as to how to Keep the Company afloat and restructure debt, and sometimes the CEO of the Company that was in pre Chapter 11 is not the CEO after the Chapter 11 Reorganization. In a couple of those Chapter 11’s, Trump agreed to give up his CEO role and give up some of his equity interest in the firm

Not an issue and as you said, he did not bankrupt a country like Obama.

For Americans, unrestricted political betting is difficult, and possibly against the law.

Betfair.com is located in London, and USA law prevents USA citizens from using USA sourced credit cards to open accounts there.

No doubt there are creative ways around that blockade, but I suspect that chops out a huge percentage of American bettors from the get-go.

That also chops out a huge percentage of American political knowledge, which, I suspect, has a significant impact on the odds.

The media? They’ve been publicly exposed for what they are. Come on. They’ve become like government. Few have any trust or faith left for them.

Their goodies are undeniable. Everything is on film. Everything is documented. Everything is in Trumps own words and image.
Wait until they bring out the interview where Trump says Blacks are lazy, and all they do is take drugs and make babies. Yeah. the media has that interview. If you don't think they're going to use it, you're only fooling yourself. If I remember correctly, around 2012 or so? I believe it was in Chicago, or about Chicago.
And that's just a little taste of what they've got. Trump likes to shoot off his mouth without thinking long term.

RPC average, Hillary over Trump +3.

(Be careful what you wish for, Trump supporters.)

RPC Average - Cruz over Hillary +1

I'm very aware of these polls and if there was someone else better running I would support them. You must remember that this early on, these polls mean very little. Once Trump has wrapped up the nomination, he will focus his attention on Hillary and will hopefully see his poll numbers rise.

I liked Ted Cruz until he got up to dirty tricks and practices in SC. Now I have a better impression of Rubio than Cruz! I'm a South Carolina voter and I weighed and waited on my vote for a long time and went to a good number of events of most of the candidates, but I finally settled on Trump. I think he has tremendous potential and like it or not, he's very likely to be our nominee.

You don't get it. That's the great thing about Trump. It doesn't matter.

No. YOU don't get it. They've got stuff that will make YOU stay home.
He danced with the left wing devils for decades - and now they own him.

Haven't you wondered WHY he wants single payer healthcsre? Because it's democrat.
Subsidies? Democrat!
PP? Democrat.
Just 2 years ago - amnesty!

AND, because of shady business deals and litigation while Loretta Lynch was on the bench, he got a few favors in return for his democrat donations. Guess who will be nominated for the Supreme court opening? I'll give you a hint - LL. He OWES her.

He seems to be under the impression that anyone who isn’t voting for Trump is voting against Trump. It doesn’t occur to him that there are people voting FOR Cruz or Rubio; that liking Cruz or Rubio best doesn’t mean they hate Trump.

Trump is right. If Either Cruz or Rubio dropped out, Trump would pick up some of their supporters. Heck, Trump even picked up some of Jeb’s supporters.

Exactly The Cruzies day dream that all of Carson’s supporters will stampede to Cruz is hilarious. Carson’s supporters seek authenticity and Cruz is the least authentic candidate in the race.

Oh yes, also watch for a few of the family members of victims of the brutal San Bernardino terrorist attack on stage with Trump.

Hillary is not going to like what's coming.
