I think my smart mouth kid, would not get an “A.” Something like ... wanted to be a muslim so I could make pipe bombs, blowup innocent people in malls and have sex with 12-year olds.
Wonder how that would do?

I’m trying to think of a single thing - just one thing - Islam has done to improve benefit the world in 1500 years and I simply can’t. But, I can point to hundreds of millions of murders, massive oppression of freedom and liberty, widespread persecution, and untold suffering. It is a scourge to all mankind.
Sounds like my boy. They were doing the green thing when he was in school. I got so many phone calls and had to go to school several times. The boy just would refuse to do the “left wing” stuff. His words as a third grader.
The only fly in the ointment is the choice of path for that search for knowledge in young, developing minds.
All the objectives of the intent can be more easily obtained if the assignment were to be renamed to "Children were told to write to their parents explaining why they had converted to Christianity, and why."
Providing free life insurance for all the participating students for the remote possibility that they might be killed by their own parents for writing a school assignment that only promotes the search for knowledge might make the acceptance of the assignment impossible to oppose.
There has never in history been recorded that any Christian children have been killed by their own parents for performing a school assignment.
