Trump is no Romney. He is running an unsubtle, racist campaign that has particularly targeted Latinos. His chances of winning swing states with significant Latino populations -- Florida, Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico -- are extremely low.
But he doesn't need them to win. All he has to do is carry the Rust Belt -- a region perfectly attuned to Trump's fiery denunciations of American trade policy and his angry condemnation of Washington corruption. While Romney hailed free trade, globalization and "creative destruction," Trump rails against the North American Free Trade Agreement and promises to bring jobs back home.

The authors sagely warn against Democrats taking Trump for granted: "Seasoned Republicans have spent the past six months with their heads in the sand, hoping Trump would just go away. Democrats can't afford to make the same mistake."
Just ask Jeb Bush.
Trump has already prevented Democrats from using George W’s record against him.
Genius.
Someone might want to give HuffnStuff the six month old memo:
Trump is crushing Florida.
Where have these folks been?
When Trump wins Ohio early on Election Day, America will be domino dancing heading westward.
He’ll have locked up the Solid South, the border states, places like West Virginia, Iowa and Maryland and much of the West.
>> He is running an unsubtle, racist campaign that has particularly targeted Latinos
Trumps’s White Privilege of course!
Is there anything more vacant than the Liberal mind?
The Solid South? The antidote to Montezuma’s Revenge?
The writers describe themselves. They always do. Without projection, liberals would have nothing to say.
What is there left to conserve?
The Republican party voted for funding scamnesty (and supports open borders), voted to fund 300,000 Muslim ‘refugees’ coming to our country, and gave Obama whatever he wanted. 20 trillion in debt. Wars we didn’t need to be in, nation rebuilding, NAFTA.
The Republican party needs to be destroyed and rebuilt from the ground up - just like the wall about to go up on our southern border.
Thinking...
it is true, Trump has a much more plausible path to the White House than Jeb ever did (Hillary would’ve ruined him). Of couse tho, the big question mark is will the GOP machinery get in line with the Donald?
Do they value taking back the White House from the party of Islam Hussein Obama, or nursing their petty grievances and grudges against Trump? A lot of the establishment folks, even if they’ve got few actually voters for their own candidacy, do have access to voter files, voter rolls, group memberships, vote counters, etc. Not to mention the members of both parties who might not be so into Trump’s lack of indebtedness to special interests that elect and enrich them.
The Democrats will use Trump’s record against him: you’ll gave a television ad of Donald Trump telling CNN that the economy does better under Democrats, Donald Trump praising Barack Obama for passing his Trillion dollar stimulus package, and his 2008 endorsement proclaiming he knows Hillary Clinton and she’d make a “great President,” and finally Donald Trump’s praise of socialized healthcare to seal the deal. How are Republicans going to even effectively counter Trump’s record?
Considering California at this point. Now there’s a state that desperately a jolt of confidence.

26. Clinton will encounter great difficulties here in Michigan against
Trump.
I’ve yet to find a common person that supports her, period.
2. Hillary steals the Democratic nomination and then is indicted by the FBI.
3. Sanders ekes out the nomination and is pummeled by Trump.
Ryan is a needy idiot.
And the Republican idiots that supported his leadership position must be voted out of office.
+1 ;)
If he fights for it, I think he can win it.
If he does, it will affect the state a great deal.
alright. now listen up. don’t depend too much on Reagan dems. There aren’t as many as there used to be.
Also, don’t be so sure “Hispanics” (aren’t we americans?” are gonna go against him as hard as they are now once they hear his message.
you have to go after independents and Cruz conservatives.
you have to watch your back because I know a few of you trump people can do math :), Rubio Plus Bush votes Plus Kasich votes equals trouble.
a few might go to trump. But think. I’m a Cruz guy who’s gonna vote Trump in the generals.
Why do you think the Rubio/bush/Kasich guys aren’t gonna stick together? they think alike.
My man has two choices. Pair up with Rubio, which I would hate.
drop out when the time comes and back Trump.
trump loses badly head to head with Rubio and cruz. You can say it isn’t so and waste energy, or figure out why. And fix it.
Ted’s young. He’s got ‘24.
People have to start looking at all the angles of this election.
Not what they want to see, but what is real.
if trump were carrying the Reagan vote, I just think he would be beating Hillary by 10. he’s not.
perhaps by august he will be.
