Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas noticeably toughened his stance on immigration Monday night, saying in an interview that the U.S. should deport all 12 million illegal immigrants now here.
In an interview with Fox News, host Bill O'Reilly asked Mr. Cruz whether he would "round up all 12 million illegal aliens here, and if so, how?" Mr. Cruz replied, "yes, we should deport them. We should build a wall, we should triple the Border Patrol. Federal law requires that anyone here illegally that's apprehended should be deported." When Mr. O'Reilly pressed him how this would happen and whether a President Cruz would tell federal law-enforcement to actively seek out illegals, the Texan didn't back away. "Look, Bill, of course you would. That's what ICE exists for. We have law enforcement that looks for people who are violating the laws, that apprehends them and deports them," Mr. Cruz said.
In earlier interviews, Mr. Cruz had parried questions about what the federal government should do with the illegal immigrants already here and downplayed what he called a "deportation force." "I don't intend to send jackboots to knock on your door and every door in America. That's not how we enforce the law for any crime," he told CNN in the runup to the Iowa caucuses. According to the Dallas Morning News, Mr. Cruz had for years ducked the question of what to do with illegals here, saying that was a question only worth asking and answering once the U.S.-Mexico border is secure.

Very misleading.
How many support the Trump Touchback Amnesty?
Too little, too late.
Don’t get all unstable on us now, rofl.
LOL!
And a spam poster to boot.
I’m for Trump, but see noobians popping up like snowdrops in March, and some like March hares taunting my friends with different opinions ...
I’ve got lingering bulldog odors still losing potency that were squeezed out before some of the birthdays I’m seeing.
In sum, the lack of respect for us toothless, rheumy curmudgeons is more annoying than ...
what was I talking about?
Well, I support Trump. I know the other side has given it a lot of thought too.
Can say as I agree with them. LOL
I think we need a doer as well. Trump has achieved.
Thank you. I wanted to get one large enough to print out for a short time for the wall.
It’s so good...
Did you do it?
Sounds like Ted Cruz finally read Donald Trump’s proposed policy on immigration and now agrees with it.
No, I don’t have the programs anymore and my photoshop skills are horrible.
Okay. I thought I had seen your name around the first time I found it. Thought I’d ask.
Take care. Thanks for the tip.
Did you hear that? READ it again. All those words. In the end all you got was air.
Cruz speaks ONLY about felons, ONLY about individuals who are “apprehended”, and “that is what ICE is for”.
NOT one word about the gazillions Bill was referencing, who are not at the border, not someone apprehended, but are already here, embedded. Not a word. Listen again. It “ain’t” there.
NOT one word about the gazillion “not apprehended”.
NOT one word about the gazillion who have not committed a “federal” crime and been arrested for that one event.
Cruz is a fraud, the master of legalese, the best in the world at it and you guys do not HEAR it. Amazing you can not break down the legalese.
It’s a world class DODGE, by a world class fraud.
But you’re okay with Don Trump’s proposal of touch-back amnesty? Hilarious!
What’s wrong with Touch Back?
TRUMP gives the “touch” of his boot, and they can get in the 10 year line and apply to come back in.
Harvard Law Schooled lawyer Cruz sounds more like the Clinton team, in the art of parsing words. Original intent of the Constitution Ted, has morphed into ‘consistent’ conservative..Ted. And the little people scream but Trump is not a conservative.
Yeah, sure. If you’re going to vote for a Northeastern liberal, take a look at Hillary and Bernie...
>>>”what was I talking about?”
Don’t remember, but I understood it.
well put.
If they're all kicked out there will be millions of them lined up to get back in. How many can be processed along with all the other regular immigrants who arrive seeking legal status every year? How many will pass the screening process? Ten years after deporting them all I doubt even ten percent will make it back as legal residents, let alone citizens. That and the wall will be enough to prevent a Democrat majority, and help raise wages for Americans.
